Job Title: Senior FPGA Engineer

Location: Bangalore, India

We are expanding our presence in India through the establishment of a Group Engineering Competence Centre (ECC), solidifying our position as a leader in diverse markets. This ECC will be based in Bengaluru and will focus on developing hardware, software, and systems engineering capabilities for both civil and defence sectors. The location was chosen due to the existing ecosystem, proximity to the market, and abundance of skilled engineers.

This ECC will cater to both local and export markets, offering opportunities to work on complex projects across various industries. By combining curiosity, intelligence, and vision, we are transforming the world around us.

FPGA V&V:

The Thales India Engineering Competency Center in Bangalore is seeking a skilled Senior FPGA Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and verifying FPGA firmware, developing RTL/GLS verification environments, and implementing target hardware for Defence and Military applications.

You will perform trade analysis of different algorithms, design approaches, engineering simulations, and modeling before finalizing the design. Your expertise will drive the development of cutting-edge solutions that meet the demands of our customers.

Responsibilities:

RTL Verification by Simulation: Design and implement simulation test benches, create test cases, ensure coverage closure, and perform HW testing and integration of FPGA-based hardware systems.
Requirements-Based Verification: Develop design specifications, detailed designs, and other technical artefacts based on requirements.
VHDL Language: Possess hands-on experience with VHDL language.
FPGA Implementation: Implement FPGA code on target hardware and test it with other system components and software.
Linting, Equivalence Checking & Clock Domain Crossing: Have good hands-on experience with linting, equivalence checking, and clock domain crossing.
Scripting Language: Experience in any scripting language for automation (Perl/TCL/Python).
Test Bench Development: Develop test benches to verify developed items using self-checking test benches, BFMs, checkers/Monitors & Score boards using VHDL.
Release Management: Release developed items according to configuration control procedures.
Progress Updates: Provide regular progress and technical updates to the project manager.
Project Schedule Estimation: Provide project schedule estimates and identify technical risks.
Requirement Management: Have good knowledge of Requirement Management (DOORs or similar) and DO-254.

Requirements:

Prior experience in FPGA development and verification using VHDL.
Experience in any scripting language for automation (Perl/TCL/Python).
Experience in FPGA Implementation Tools (XILINX Vivado/ALTERA Libero SoC/NanoXplore Xmap, Xpython/Altera Quartus).
Good experience in Mentor Graphics tools (HDL Designer, Questasim, Quest CDC, and Formal Pro).
Experience in handling Lab equipment (Logic Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Function Generators, JTAG, and In-circuit de-buggers).

Estimated Salary: 1200000 - 1800000 INR per annum.
