    Job Description of Special Educator

    Qualification: Special Educator: B.Ed in Special Education(Learning Disability/Mental Retardation) and/or M.Ed in Special Education(Learning Disability/Mental Retardation)

    Job Location: Vibgyor High - Vadodara

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • with students having Special Education Needs.
    • to Pre-Primary referrals.
    • in SEN Admissions.
    • classroom observations and informal assessments for referred cases.
    • and implement Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs) for all permanent cases in each term.
    • worksheets and teaching aids for achieving remedial goals.
    • IEP goals at an individual level as well as through exam papers and review sheets to ensure application of skills.
    • progress reports on the basis of the same.
    • intervention for academic as well as need based counseling for referred cases.
    • follow up with teachers to monitor academic and behavioral progress of students. Recommend strategies for the same.
    • Visiting Professionals (shadow-teacher) on a regular basis to ensure positive and continuous development in the child.
    • external assistance/therapies as per the students' needs.
    • exam provisions to parents as per individual student needs and update teachers and grade coordinators about the same.
    • students availing resource intervention during secondary exam invigilation and primary reviews.
    • grade 3 teachers to implement first level of screening for learning disabilities through BCSLD checklist (Behavioral Checklist for Screening the Learning Disabled).
    • BCSLD and DTLD training of resource staff.
    • DTLD test with Grade 3 students.
    • DTLD test protocols of grade 3 students.
    • feedback to parents about DTLD test results and recommend appropriate plan of action.
    • various workshops for students, parents and school staff.
    • in-house SEN trainings with resource members
    • and participate in Resource Meet Tainings
    • vocational guidance counseling for grade 8 for subject selection of ICSE and IGCSE.
    • regularity on important events in school.
    • participate in VIVA and any other additional responsibilities related to school co-curricular activities.
