    JobPurpose:

    The Field HealthSpecialist is organizationally located within the Personal Healthand Wellness Unit (PHW) and reports to the Senior Field HealthSpecialist in Health and Safety Directorate (HSD) HQ located inWashington DC. The incumbent reports directly to the Senior HealthSpecialist (SHS)while working under the more general operationalsupervision of the Hub TL stationed in Singapore. As such theincumbent is responsible for technical work as assigned by the SHSfor all general and day to day nurse specific duties andresponsibilities and for Hub specific operational tasks as assignedby the Hub Team Lead in accordance with guidance from the HSDManager of Operations in HQ who oversees all Hub activities throughthe Team Lead. The incumbent engages in collaborativemultidisciplinary health and safety efforts across HSD.

    Functions andDuties:

    The incumbent deliversexpert level nursing services and support to HSD management Hub TLsand stakeholders external to HSD when appropriate and whenrequested and/or required. Expertise includes a wide range ofoccupational general and emergency medicine issues that affect alllevels and categories of employees including executive management.The incumbent must recognize multicultural staff living in orcoming from various diverse backgrounds and ensure the exercise ofcontinual sensitivity to these issues as they deal with sometimesvery personal issues. Within these parameters the incumbent has ahigh level of independence and autonomy to act to ensure that theclinical mission of the unit is accomplished.

    Personal Health andWellness:

    • Contributesto and participates in the activities of the nurse managedprograms:
    • Medical Evacuation
    • Nurses appropriately review medical information onemerging cases communicate with staff members and treatingphysicians as needed and help confirm that needed care cannot bedelivered locally.
    • When appropriate medicalcare cannot be delivered locally nurses will ensure that for alleligible cases Intl SOS may be engaged through an establishedactivation process.
    • The nurses willcoordinate with ISOS to help determine.
    • :Appropriate destination of care center of medicalexcellence
    • Appropriate travelrecommendations
    • The need for ongoing ISOS casemanagement at the center of medical excellence including medicalmonitoring and discharge instructions Recommendations regardingfollow up care once back at the duty station.
    • Preventive Health and Wellness Promotion.
    • Nurses work collaboratively with all members to establishand sustain a culture of health and safety in the corporation andin country offices
    • .Promote Country Officestaff engagement and in myriad health safety and wellness/wellbeingoutreach efforts such as vaccination campaigns education aboutchronic disease management and so forth
    • Motivate staff engagement in various HSD outreach offerings such asCPR/AED training the Employee Health and Wellness Program and MHWUnit educational lectures and webinars
    • CountryOffice Oriented Travel Medicine:
    • Promulgatesthe importance of pretravel consultation with HSD to all staffmembers throughout regions cover
    • Deliverstravel medicine services in Hub locations as well as regions withno direct on the ground HSD assets
    • Providesguidance and expertise when needed regarding specific health andsafety risks that must be addressed in preparing staff forrelocation to specific regions
    • Providesprogrammatic risk assessment and medical surveillance whenappropriate to include infectious disease outbreaks
    • Engages in meetings between key players in the variousregions and when assigned participates in multidisciplinary missiontravel efforts by providing occupational health risk assessments aspart of the information gathering and dissemination that take placeduring mission.

    Selection Criteria

    • Masters degree with 5 years of experience orequivalent combination of education and experience
    • Strong theoretical base in subject area combining a broadgrasp of relevant theory and principles and of involved practicesand precedent.
    • Ability to translate theoryinto practical applications in context of Bank work.
    • Ability to participate in multidisciplinaryteams.
    • Valid and current Registered Nurselicensure certification or other professional recognition per localpublic health authority requirements
    • Able totake 24hour nurse call duty assignment
    • Proficiency in written spoken and clinical English
    • Ability to travel internationally as required
