Job summary
As a Staff Software Engineer at BlackLine, you will play a crucial role in building the next generation of BlackLine applications and data platform.
You will be part of a team that drives innovation into our product suite by designing, developing, troubleshooting, maintaining, optimizing and scaling full-stack cloud-based solutions,
running on some combination of Google Cloud Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services You will be responsible for designing and building components that enhance the configurability extensibility
and interoperability of these various systems while striving for usability scalability of data transfer using a full breadth of design techniques
and data transfer protocols available within each system

- Mentor coach team members guide them to solutions on complex design issues do peer code reviews Work with product management architects other engineering teams to understand stated unstated needs turn them into functional technical requirements Maintain strong sense business value return investment planning design communication Lead technical design architecture discussions help drive decisions make appropriate trade-offs technology functionality robustness performance extensibility Estimate project scope timelines consistently deliver those commitments Implement refine enforce software development techniques ensure delivered features meet integration performance security maintainability expectations Research test benchmark evaluate new tools technologies recommend ways implement product development Maintain high standards software quality excellence within team establishing good practices writing clean testable maintainable secure code Inspire forward-thinking developers acting agent change evangelist quality-first culture organization Proactively identify issues bottlenecks gaps opportunities work directly affect change advocate that change Perform critical maintenance deployment release support activities including occasional off-hours support
