    Job Role: Project Accountant/Coordinator for the CUPA Head Office in Ulsoor.

    Position: Project Coordinator for the Organization: Compassion Unlimited Plus Action (CUPA): Bengaluru, Karnataka

    Salary Range - Rs 20-30k per month as per organization salary scale and experience

    About CUPA: Compassion Unlimited Plus Action (CUPA) is an animal welfare and rescue organisation, setup in the year 1991 by Ms. Crystal Rogers, a British woman who moved permanently to India to establish the public charitable Trust for the rescue, relief and care of Bangalore's stray, community animals. The organisation was founded by 3 women including Ms Suparna Ganguly & Dr. Shiela Rao.

    Today, the organisation operates eight centres across the city, some of these centres focus on animal birth control, trauma & rescue, large animal rehabilitation, geriatric care for old and handicapped dogs, rehoming of abandoned and abused dogs and so forth. CUPA has 500+ animals under care at any given point and provide medical care for animals every year.

    Seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to manage and coordinate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and grant funds, along with handling specific accounting responsibilities within our organization. The ideal candidate will report directly to the Chief Accounts Officer (CAO) and Head of Projects, ensuring adherence to financial and organizational requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • CSR/Grants Funds Management:
    • Collaboratively track and report on various grants and CSR initiatives within each financial year.
    • Timely monitor applications, conduct due diligence, and submit documentation while coordinating procurement processes.
    • Manage orders, deliveries, and installations, ensuring accurate records and verifications of invoices and bills.
    • Maintain comprehensive records for CSR/grant projects, including related accounts and billing paperwork, to aid in the preparation and submission of Grant Utilisation reports.
    • Financial Coordination:
    • Verify approved bills and invoices, addressing any discrepancies with the concerned trustees and Accounts department.
    • Prepare and record vendor payments, manage entries in Tally Prime software, and keep meticulous NEFT/RTGS payment logs.
    • Create detailed project-wise Income & Expenditure sheets for financial tracking and reporting.
    • Strategize on short-term fixed deposits for surplus funds to optimize interest gains, in consultation with fiscal leadership.
    • Administrative Duties:
    • Ensure necessary materials for volunteering initiatives are acquired, documented accurately for financial records.
    • Coordinate with printing services for the creation of project-related materials.
    • Undertake miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Accounts and Projects Manager to support CSR, grants, and projects.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Prepare various financial forecasts, budget sheets, and compliance documents in alignment with organization protocols.
    • Facilitate timely financial reporting, including cash flow statements, TDS statements, and monthly salary reconciliations.
    • Coordinate internal and external audit requirements, maintain a prevailing vendor list, and manage project-related asset records.

    Requirements:

    • 3-5 years experience in project accounting or 4-5 years in core accounting with strong proficiency in Excel and Tally Prime software.
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
    • Adept at managing multiple tasks with attention to detail.
    • Education in B.Com, BBA, or as a Cost Accountant preferred.

    This role is integral to ensuring the financial integrity and success of our CSR and project initiatives, requiring a blend of accounting expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.
