    The Future Horizons Science & Technology (FHS&T) group's remit is to pursue and build strategic advantages in prioritised areas of science and technology application to deliver growth in strategic key verticals that enable our brands/BUs to take up future leadership positions through Deep Human understanding and unique, differentiated Trusted Science. The FHS&T group translates new approaches learnt in the process of building strategic science & technology into new capabilities for R&D.

    The 2 Regional Discover & Apply Hubs in the Americas and APAC/China implement the emerging/emerged science & technology partnership sourcing strategy with SMEs, start-ups, universities, research institutions and public-private partnerships. The Discover & Apply Innovation Ecosystem Manager role is critical in accessing and building partnerships to support the Discover & Apply ambition by:

  • Identifying and mapping the regional ecosystems to accelerate access to emerging/emerged science & technology and work across the Hubs to collaborate and knowledge share within and across innovation hubs and build Discover & Apply as a recognized early-stage Science & Technology partnership model in Haleon.
  • Building, nurturing, and growing partnerships across the globe targeted at our strategic platform areas and other cross-business unit/category Horizon 3 demand spaces, ensuring the partnership creates win-win opportunities for Haleon and feeds into Category & BU opportunities.
  • Building a network of internal partners as extensions (spokes) to the hub to act as an external radar to access new science & technology solutions.
  • Responsibilities:

  • Develop, lead, and actively support the partner community affiliated to the Hub.
  • Build, implement portfolio build for Discover & Apply model (resourcing, operating model, portfolio building and continuous partnership identification, building and de-risking) ensuring continuous value generation for FHS&T and beyond from the specific hub
  • Facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration within and between the Hub. Actively facilitate networking and partnership activities in the regional Self-Care ecosystem and across Hubs to stimulate new constellations of cooperation across either the Americas or APAC/China.
  • Stakeholder management at senior and executive level of partner institutions/structures.
  • Establish and maintain business processes of and/or linked to Innovation Hub operations.
  • Manage Hub budget and according to activities as set out in the annual Business Plan.
  • Drive Hub communications (internal and external) in alignment with the Discover & Apply framework.
  • Build a network of functional experts within the broader CH R&D organisation (eg. FHS&T, Innovation Research, Category/BU R&D Leads etc) and seek input/co-build where appropriate.
  • Be the voice of the Hub in the Discover & Apply strategic planning, and externally raising the profile of the Hub to be a recognised thought leader in partnerships for the region.
  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences or related fields.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in FMCG or Healthcare industry.
  • Global experience in science & technology partnerships building.
  • Expertise in developing novel solutions through combining internal and external technology.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including strategic thinking.
  • Leadership, communication and influencing skills, ability to lead change.
  • Substantial product development experience in healthcare or consumer goods.
  • Technical leadership of multifunctional R&D teams demonstrating sound understanding of responsibilities of medical, regulatory engineering and science functions.
  • Understanding of healthcare development principles and requirements ideally for medical devices, dietary supplements, medicines, and software.
  • Prior experience within a marketing led environment where complex technical issues are communicated effectively and debated with stakeholders with diverse experience.
  • Good networking ability within a large organization and with external partners.
  • Strong experience in innovative new to business developments.
