Position Summary:
We are seeking a professional having rich and proven experience in designing of hydraulic components of various types of
centrifugal pumps. The ideal candidate should have experience in independently designing of hydraulic components like
impeller, diffuser, volute etc. by using recognized design software and analyzing its performance through CFD simulation
software.
The position will be based out of Pentair's Global Engineering Center (GEC) located in Noida and will be a part of Advanced
Hydraulic Team (AHT). The AHT works on wide spectrum of hydraulic design related activities starting from pump
performance improvement, NPD, performance deviation root cause analysis, Thermal (CHT) Simulations. GEC is equipped
with pump and motor performance testing lab up to 10HP rating motors which provides an excellent opportunity to
prototype and test the newly designed pumps before sharing the final designs with Pentair's manufacturing sites spread
across globe.
Job functions:
• Responsibilities include interpreting customer inputs to create design requirements.
• Perform competitive mapping and define performance target.
• Design of Impeller and volute/diffuser of centrifugal pumps by using design software like CFTurbo.
• Verify the performance through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling.
• Validate the performance by Prototype testing.
• Perform root cause analysis and product rationalization y using CFD modeling.
• Develop Pump hydraulic design guidelines and CFD processes.
• Guide junior team members in meeting their design goals.
• Independently coordinate with global counterparts in delivering competitive designs.
Skills
• Thorough understanding of the fluid mechanics and turbo machines
• Expertise in Ansys CFX/Fluent or equivalent software.
• Should be familiar and capable to work with CAD software like SolidWorks or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated, organized and able to lead projects independently.
• People management skills will have added advantage.
Experience
• 12-15 years of experience in hydraulic design of turbomachinery components.
• Proven experience of independently designing of hydraulic components of turbomachinery from scratch.
Education Qualification
• M.Tech in Mechanical engineering with specialization in Computational fluid dynamics or turbomachinery or
equivalent.
Other Requirements:
• Strong Analytical skills
• Should have passion for Design & Technology
