    About the role

    The Design Draftsperson: This Office based role in Hyderabad, prepares designs, specifications, drawings and specification packages for the construction of fixed and mobile plant, champions the Design Quality Plan(DQP) in the drawing Management System and assists with managing the drafting workload and deliverables amongst drafting contractors as required.

    What you will be doing

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Creates design drafting for both Delivery Systems and Fixed Plant
    • Ensures all drafting flows through the DQP system
    • Checks drafting works of other draftspersons as per the DQP
    • Assists with managing drafting workflow, prioritisation and resourcing
    • Ensures that all designs produced comply with their "basis of safety".
    • Conducts planning (contributing to briefs) for design work
    • Prepares concept layouts and designs for approval
    • Prepares detailed construction drawings and specifications covering a variety of engineering disciplines including civil, mechanical and electrical
    • Checks drawings (as per Work Instructions)
    • Uses and improves drawing production, and design, procedures
    • Applies and maintains an expert knowledge in the relevant company and Australian Standards
    • Maintains expert skill and knowledge necessary to effectively and efficiently use computer aided drafting.
    • Maintains a detailed knowledge concerning the functional requirements and design of fixed and mobile plants.
    • Supervises internal and external drafting work to ensure compliance with company standards
    • Re-uses, to the maximum extent, previous designs and drawings for Standard Plant & Equipment
    • Builds maintainability into designs Agrees design output as part of scope
    • Ensures level of detail and design documents are the minimum required.

    What you will bring

    • Minimum 3 years experience in an engineering design drafting role, Experience gained from the manufacturing industry would be advantageous.
    • A degree in Mechanical / Mechatronic engineering
    • A thorough knowledge of AS1100 drawing standards is essential
    • Skilled in engineering design and drafting.
    • Extensive knowledge and experience in the use of AutoCAD and Solidworks for 3D modelling and 2D drafting
    • A practical understanding of typical materials handling and pumping systems.
