    Job Overview:

    The Associate Manager, Grants Administration (GA) provides local line management, global investigator grant payment expertise, and coordination to ensure grant payments are executed with both timeliness and quality for all studies globally. In addition, provides technical expertise related to applicable GA job functions. The Associate Manager, GA, works independently and directly with global internal and external study team members to provide status updates and/or resolve concerns, as applicable. The Associate Manager, GA, works closely with the global grants team and allocates appropriate local resources. In addition, effectively communicates cross-functionally between contracts, finance, and clinical functions, as needed. Serves as a point of escalation, as applicable. The Associate Manager, GA, monitors activities on studies to identify potential problems and provide solutions.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:


    • Conducts interviews and new team member onboarding, as applicable

    • Motivates, coaches, trains, and develops local grants team

    • Solicits feedback throughout the year with respect to direct report performance

    • Holds routine 1:1 discussions with direct reports, providing feedback on performance and personal development plans

    • Prepares and conducts annual performance assessments of assigned staff

    • Coordinates team schedules, ensuring appropriate departmental coverage

    • Maintains resourcing of assigned staff across regional studies

    • Serves as a resource to the department for technical questions related to their job function

    • Communicates issues and collaborates with other Managers and Director

    • Assists Managers and Directors in conducting routine department meetings

    • Participates in management meetings, as appropriate

    • Raises topics to Managers and Director for process enhancement, e.g., potential improvement to efficiency and/or accuracy

    • Independently investigates process and/or system concerns to support issue resolution and/or team member queries, escalates to Managers and/or Directors appropriately

    • Oversees payee set-up in appropriate payment tracking systems and facilitates cross-functional coordination with stakeholders, as necessary

    • Oversees routine troubleshooting, resolution, and appropriate escalation of Clinical Trial Management System failure reports

    • Provides leadership to and oversight of the local grants team

    • Provides mentorship to the local grants team in daily grants activities

    • Assures adherence to SOPs and guidelines

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Provides direct supervision and work direction for 1-10 regional/office-based employees. The team may be comprised of any level Grants Coordinator.

    Job Requirements:


    • Education
    o College/University graduate preferred and/or equivalent experience


    • Experience
    o Minimum of two (2) years in mentor and/or supervisory role preferred
    o Minimum of five (5) years of clinical research experience or relevant clinical operations role preferred
    o Experience with investigator grant payments
