    The Associate Director, FP&A COGS GPO & Execution is responsible for the governance, development and day-to-day oversight of the COGS forecasting process across BMS.

    The Associate Director, FP&A COGS GPO & Execution is accountable for ensuring that the process is compliant with corporate policies and standards.

    The Associate Director, FP&A COGS GPO & Execution is responsible for working with Key Stakeholders including but not limited to the Senior Director, FP&A Hub Lead, Director, FP&A Global Process Ownership, Hyderabad service delivery leads, and in-market Finance business partners to understand the needs and desired outcomes.

    The Associate Director, FP&A COGS GPO & Execution should work with an external focus looking for new innovations and best practices which can be applied to the forecasting process to ensure continuous evolution to support business needs.

    Additionally, the Associate Director, FP&A COGS GPO & Execution must collaborate with process stakeholders, and peer process owners to ensure effective and efficient process operations, and identification and leverage of cross-process synergies.

    The successful candidate for this role will be someone who can bring best practices to the role and who is skilled at analyzing, innovating and continually improving processes.


    Key accountabilities will include:

    Knowledge of financial planning, forecasting and budgeting processesDriving innovation and data-based improvement of key processesCreating an excellent internal and external customer experienceNurturing a culture of collaboration and high performanceAccurately and candidly assess the performance of the areas they cover / impactWorking closely with business and process leaders / owners to develop and communicate strategies, define improvement initiatives and analyze their needs and successes, and collect feedback / analytics to drive continuous improvementCreating a culture of financial discipline and operational excellenceA minimum of 10 years of experience is required, preferably in a process excellence or capability improvement capacity.

    The position will be based in the BMS's Hyderabad Location (expected 50% in-person) with up to 10% travel expected.

    Key Responsibilities and Major Duties:
    Process standardization and improvementOwns FP&A COGS forecasting process globally for BMSEstablish and communicate a clear vision for the COGS forecasting processLead the development and execution of a global strategy for policies, processes, and technologiesDefine and establishing consistent end to end process, KPIs and targets and intervene accordingly to drive results improvementCollaborate with data owners / stewards to align on process and data issuesIdentify and prioritize FP&A COGS forecasting improvement projects with a focus on delivering key business outcomesDevelops the business case for process improvement decisions, and tracks actuals against the plan to validate execution and improve future plansEstablish & participate in process governanceIdentify, design and incorporate industry leading practices into standard operations within the Hyderabad Hub necessary to identify, and raise / resolve issues involving tradeoffs, especially around cost, quality, and customer serviceEstablish a culture of continuous improvement at all levels of the organization and foster a business-oriented culture; continuously monitor the needs of the businessSolicit feedback from internal customers, both operationally and regionally to determine best response to continually improve process performance and year-over-year cost reductionsEnsure and continually validate operating procedures are established and documented to support execution, and are maintained to align with process changesEnsure COGS forecasting services are provided to the markets at competitive costs and leading service levelsEnsure integration across FP&A business processes (Revenue / COGS / OPEX forecasting and management reporting) for all solutions developedReview and approve / reject all requests for local accommodations to the global process in order to maintain the integrity of the global process while also meeting local requirements


    COGS forecasting execution activitiesOversees FP&A COGS forecasting activities globally for BMSLeads team and supports execution of COGS forecasting activities for regional and senior management consumptionServes as day-to-day COGS forecasting contact for in-market FP&A teamsBuilds and reviews budget and projections for COGS globallyProvides effective analyses to clearly highlight key trends / variances and rationalePrepares presentations for budget & projection reviews; updates forecast templates as neededPrepares analysis of monthly actual variances vs.

    budget / projection in alignment with standard framework and templatesManages and executes special projects, ad-hoc analysis to ensure highly effective outcomes

    Relationship management and teamingCollaborate with Corporate FP&A to ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures, and adjust processes to reflect changes requiredCommunicate effectively as a spokesperson / leader for the COGS GPO and Execution teamInteracts daily with in-market FP&A teamsBuild and maintain relationships at all levels throughout the organization, specifically with Hyderabad Hub and global Finance leadershipParticipate in process councils and steering groups to identify high-impact and cross-BU improvement initiativesCollect and educate others on best / leading practices, and enforce implementationBuild an external network to ensure regular exposure to new and best practices, technologies, and process governance standardsAssist in recruiting, hiring, and retaining of strong local team membersIdentify and manage training and upskilling of local team members

    Risk managementAnticipate needs, assess and manage business risk taking; escalate issues that may impact revenue forecasting process globally; manage through times of crisis and ambiguity

    Experience – Responsibility and minimum number of yearsMinimum of 10 years of experienceMastery of financial analysis, modeling, processes (budget, P&L) sufficient to train and develop othersGlobal process ownership experience for forecastingExperience in leading transformational program or enterprise-wide change initiatives, and tying those initiatives directly to the overall strategy of the organizationProficiency in analyzing process performance and systems capabilities to define and oversee process improvement projects through design and oversight to execution and delivery of expected business resultsExperience working for a multinational organization and working with colleagues internationally, especially in a highly collaborative manner and cultureExperience with global teams and/or centers of excellenceProficiency in English languageAbility and willingness to travel internationally as needed
