    Description

    Primary Responsibility: As a key member of the Finance team, the DGM/GM will report to the Sr GM Finance and assume a crucial role in the overall financial structure of the company. This will include the responsibility to ensure proper financial control, Implementation of the policies and procedures, appropriate management reporting, budgetary control and sound financial management.

    The DGM/GM will also ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

    The DGM/GM will be responsible for the following:

    Financial Accounting, MIS, and Reporting

    • Preparation of monthly management accounts and management information reports, which should include profitability of each center in the country and cash flow projections by the 6th of each month.
    • Assisting in preparation of budgets, forecasts and business plans.
    • Liaise with statutory auditors on the preparation and audit of statutory financial statements
    • Track budgets with actual incurred and reporting it to HO vis-à-vis variance and special approvals
    • Responsible for complete accounting (partly through BDO) and overview of the books of accounts.
    • Ensure that the SAP is accurately reporting revenue, costs & profitability on a monthly basis.

    Operational Finance

    • Managing operational finance requirement for the regions
    • Overview reconciliation and reporting of revenue/liability for each location in the country
    • Responsible for sending timely and detailed accounting information.
    • Responsible for monthly ledger scrutiny to ensure accurate financial reporting.
    • Perform and overview monthly reconciliation, namely bank, vendor, VAS (Value added service) reconciliation which includes products, services and customers.
    • Responsible for verification of DFRs and gives sign off on correctness of DFRs (Daily Finance Reports)
    • Resolving Operational Finance related queries like banking, funding, cash flow management, foreign exchange fluctuations
    • Maintain internal controls and safeguards for all transactions.
    • Suggest changes in business processes (finance related) to meet regulatory requirements.
    • Partner with the business to ensure effective support without compromise on the company policy and process framework.
    • Assess and develop tools to automate and streamline processes to gain greater efficiency across the operation.
    • Assure implementation and monitor agreements with vendors and customers.

    Banking and Working Capital Management

    • Ensuring cash flows are effectively managed and reported in TMS (Treasury Management System) .
    • Responsible for ensuring payments are done as per agreed timelines with proper LOA (Line of Authority Matrix)
    • Taxation
    • Ensure local tax compliance is followed.
    • Ensure GSTR Filings are done timely with proper reconciliation.
    • Liasing with tax team /Consultants for various reporting.

    People Management

    • Manage the performance of the team of centre accountants and cashiers – assist in setting of annual performance goals, monitor performance and provide constructive feedback to improve performance.
    • Develop and mentor subordinates to move to the next higher level of job through career planning. Ensure compliance to Company policies and values.

    Qualifications, Experience and Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor in Accounting or Finance
    • Allied courses/certifications in Finance in addition to the CA/CPA degree is highly desirable
    • Sound functional knowledge of working on an ERP (eg. SAP, etc.)

    Mandatory Skills:

    • Fluency in written and spoken English
    • At least 8-10 years of post qualified experience in a similar financial control role in an organisation with a large geographical spread
    • Ability to enforce compliance and build/streamline processes
    • Ability to lead a virtual team spread across locations
