    The Role

    As the leader of our BioCare group will be part of the Xenesis leadership and will oversee research teams, strategic planning and ensuring successful product development and commercialization.

    More specifically but not limited to :

    Leadership and Strategic Planning:

    • Develop and implement a strategic vision for our BioCare group aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
    • Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of scientists and researchers, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Establish and communicate clear goals and objectives for the R&D team, ensuring alignment with the company's mission.
    • Drive the discovery, development, and commercialization of novel products based on protein and strain development applications.

    Research and Development Management:

    • Oversee the design, execution, and analysis of experiments and studies related to Biocare segment, ensuring high scientific rigor and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
    • Utilize molecular biology and genomics expertise to guide research projects, optimize methodologies, and drive innovation in strain and protein engineering, and genetic modification.
    • Manage research projects, timelines, and budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely completion of milestones.
    • Lead efforts to translate research findings into commercializable products, including identifying scalable manufacturing processes and addressing technical challenges for commercialization.

    Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration and successful product development and commercialization.
    • Provide scientific expertise and guidance in product development strategies, identifying opportunities for innovation and differentiation in the market.
    • Foster effective communication and collaboration with external stakeholders, such as academic institutions, research organizations, and regulatory bodies, to leverage partnerships and collaborations for accelerated product development.

    Regulatory Compliance and Intellectual Property:

    • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and guidelines
    • Develop and implement processes to protect intellectual property, including the preparation and submission of patent applications, to safeguard the company's innovations.

    Global Representation and Technical Collaborations:

    • Speak at relevant conferences, seminars, and technical forums, representing the company's scientific expertise and achievements.
    • Establish and maintain strategic collaborations with leading scientific organizations, research institutions, and industry partners to drive technical advancements and stay at the forefront of innovation
    • Act as a global ambassador for the company, building and nurturing relationships with key opinion leaders, industry experts, and regulatory authorities.

    Team Development and Talent Management:

    • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of scientists and researchers, with a focus on molecular biology and genomics expertise, fostering their professional growth and development.
    • Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement strategies for talent retention and succession planning.
    • Promote a culture of scientific excellence, innovation, and continuous learning in Xenesis.

    Who are we looking for-

    • A technical leader with a desire to work in the impact space, with a passion to make the world a "better" place
    • Passion to work in entrepreneurial set-ups, creating / managing a business
    • A PhD in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Genomics, Biochemistry, or a related field. Strong expertise in protein engineering, strain development, and molecular biology techniques is essential.
    • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the biotechnology industry, with a focus on research and development, preferably in molecular biology and genomics.
    • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing research and development projects, from discovery to commercialization.
    • Deep knowledge of molecular biology and genomics methodologies and their application in biotechnology research and product development.
    • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and guidelines governing biotechnology research and product commercialization.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills
    • Strong business acumen, with the ability to align scientific objectives with commercial goals and market demands.
