    Description

    Scope of Role

    The Lead Engineer is decision making responsible person with leadership skills to deliver the Commodity with defined Attributes, Cost, and Timing, by Management of Commodity, Process, Suppliers and all other stake holder & Cross functional team.

    Area of Responsibility

    ·Good Knowledge of Product Design, of Exterior Components Like Bumpers, Ducts, Spoilers, Wheel arch Liners, Heat Shields & their Materials, Manufacturing Process & Tooling Concepts

    ·Should have knowledge of Exterior Regulations & Packaging Requirements.

    ·Should be able to establish teamwork plan & define priority of work.

    ·Need to work as per Vehicle specification book, feature list and CMF specifications.

    ·Ensure common standard & template for the development of all technical specifications DVP, DFMEAs and organize technical reviews.

    ·Need to present ECR in meetings with Chief Engineer

    ·Need to work with Studio for surfacing inputs into the Exteriors Engineering release process.

    ·Need to provide design solution for PT/PTO/PP/LS/SOP Built issue Skills:

    ·In-depth functional knowledge on Exteriors plastics trim parts.

    ·Technical Project Management expertise

    ·Must have experience in Quality Control tools like GD&T DVA, PPIR.

    ·Ensure sub-system meets attribute requirements, Durability, Thermal, Weight, Cost etc.

    ·Should be able to Support vehicle launch and pre-production builds.

    ·Need to support on Prototype part Delivery to confirm Assembly Function or Commodity Validation.

    ·Should be able to communicate effectively with cross functional teams across international locations.

    ·Hands of Experience on Catia V5/Team Centre.

    ·knowledge of Problem-solving Techniques, Root cause analysis will be preferred.

    ·Experience in Supplier management like APQP documents, Cost & timing Reviews will be preferred.

    ·Experience in OEM to lead commodity will be an added advantage.

    ·Supplier interaction for manufacturing and part development.

    ·Coordination between Supplier - Offshore team - Chief Eng (OEM).

    ·Part development experience is added advantage.

    Required Experience: 6-9 Years in Automotive Exterior
