    About the Job Opportunity

    The Central Technology Team at Xplor aims to support the business strategies while solving real problems for customers and users. They work with a variety of applications in different verticals, using top technology like Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Containers to address the challenges of a global business.

    As a member of the global data engineering team, reporting to the Data and Analytics Manager, this role focuses on contributing to enterprise data warehousing and reporting efforts. Responsibilities include designing, creating, and maintaining business intelligence assets and reports to drive innovation and business efficiency.

    This position demands experience with multi-terabyte database systems and involves tasks like building data movement capabilities, developing ELT processes, ensuring data warehouse uptime, and centralizing data pipelines.

    • Designing enterprise data movement capability for ingestion to Snowflake.
    • ELT development using a mix of SQL and Python.
    • Contributing to cloud migration and ensuring system uptime.
    • Centralizing orchestration of data pipelines and automated processes.
    • Participating in Agile work planning, testing, and quality assurance.

    Essential Job Skills:

    • Experience working with multi-terabyte database systems.
    • Security-focused development practices.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services.
    • Automation skills using Python and PowerShell.
    • Source control, CI/CD practices, and pipeline deployment knowledge.
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

    Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in Python.
    • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools like Microsoft SQL, SSIS, SSAS, Power BI, and DAX.
    • Experience in designing effective data models and ETL processes.
    • Expertise in incorporating data from various sources.
    • Understanding of data governance and data quality management.
    • Familiarity with cloud-based tools like Snowflake, DBT, and Fivetran.
    • Experience with containerization using Docker.

    Education/Qualifications:

    • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
    • Preferred qualifications include expertise in parallel processing, ETL processes, and Agile development.
