As a Technical Lead - IT, you will produce or oversee functional and technical designs that address business requirements and consider environmental constraints. The role involves leading delivery and support of software solutions that meet business needs, align with architectural principles and meet quality expectations. Drive the use of agile practices through the team and the continuous evolution of development practices within Global IT Services. Finally, the role involves thought leadership, driving technology practices across the team and Global IT Services more broadly.

Role & Responsibilities :

• Line management of analyst / programmers

• Mentor and guide development team members in development and technology capabilities

• Produce functional and technical designs for new and existing applications

• Develop system code that implements the design, meeting requirements and relevant standards Document proposed approaches in functional and technical designs

• Ensure functional and technical designs for new and existing applications, adequately address business issues and meet IT expectations

• Help ensure high quality outcomes through efficient testing techniques

• Provide application support and ensure that application service levels provided meet agreed SLAs

• Ensure solution approaches are aligned with agreed architectural principles

• Support the introduction and ongoing use of agile development principles within Global IT Services Global

• Drive agile processes (e.g. standups) within product teams

• Mentor and support other team members in iterative ways of working

• Review and suggest ongoing continuous improvement to development practices within Global IT Services to lift delivery agility and quality

• Ensure compliance to agreed development principles within Global IT Services

• Maintain up to date knowledge of contemporary development and technology and how these may be applied within Global IT Services

• Provide guidance to other developers of development approaches and how these may be applied in specific scenarios

• Share knowledge with other technical leads to help elevate technology capability within Global IT Services
