Role & Job Description This role will fulfill the responsibilities of a Data Custodian for a set of applications within Cards and Payments, and will matrix into the Data Custodian Lead. Primary responsibilities of the role will be inclusive of, and not limited to below Manage and keep Data Dictionaries updated with current product version Partner with Data Stewards for biz data definitions Establish procedures to capture data dictionary and transformation logic Establish data lineage, identify data producer/consumer, create data model for existing applications Establish procedures to map business process to application metadata Coordinate with Business/Global Function Process Owners to maintain data in adherence with the retention guidelines. Facilitate safe, accurate and controlled sourcing, transport, access and storage of data at the application level. Collaborate with Data Stewards, Process Owners and Technology to fully execute required change management procedures. Implements the user access policies specified by data trustees. Ensures that data quality is sustained during technical processing (such as data entry or Extract-Transport-Load operations). Ensures that the recipient of a data extract receives a copy of the business metadata that corresponds to the extracted data. Resolves data quality issues in partnership with data Stewards. Follows change management practices during maintenance of data within a data collection. Ensures that changes to data content and controls can be audited. Advises trustees on technology solutions that support the type of access the trustee wants to provide Identify and create backlog items list in their respective area w.r.t. data integrity and accuracy issues and get them added to the book of work. Should be able to produce evidence in the form of logs, reports, document for Data quality and SLAs with various teams. Job Qualifications Qualification Graduate/Post Graduate degree in engineering or computer science streams 10-12 years of hands on experience in development/delivery of enterprise applications Past experience working on data integrity/data lineage focused functions in financial services organizations Demonstrable analytical and quantitative skills Competencies Good understanding of the product domain functional aspects Credit Cards Processing preferable with past experience in development & delivery in the Vision Plus application suite - specifically in the association clearing & settlements domain and the TRAMS module Strong technical knowledge of the Products technology stack and architecture Experience addressing inconsistencies in data and resolving data quality issues in applications Experience with the metadata and data flow through an application to support capture, organization, movement, transformation, and storage of data Experience managing Data Dictionaries Experience managing upstream & downstream data consumption needs required for an application Sound understanding of data quality and control parameters. Should have very high level of analytical and solutioning skills to manage complex situations Should be independently able to work on the tasks assigned with very limited supervision. Should possess good written as well as verbal communication skill Should be process oriented specially should be good in documenting the process artifacts Should have negotiation skills to manage conflicting priorities and complex asks Other desired Traits Ability to work with remote teams across geographies and organization lines Strong team player able to motivate team to respond to multiple demands and able to manage changing priorities and meet challenging timelines Collaborative and adaptive, with good communication skills. Prior experience working in a large Agile teams using scrum methodology is desirable Ability to own delivery responsibilities end to end and be accountable for driving results for the team Ability to formulate processes and procedures and quickly put them in to practice Strong interpersonal and articulation skills (spoken and written) Strong team orientation and commitment to overall team success; willing to go above and beyond to ensure team success; intense customer focus and commitment to driving quality Effective time management skills in order to manage multiple priorities with flexibility on time zones and timelines Logical thinking, High analytical and problem solving skills; innovative and solutions oriented Enthusiastic and quick-learner in a rapidly changing environment.
