You ll be a part of the platform team that is working on building large-scale distributed services across all core areas of the platform covering data ingestion, big data management, big data processing, analytics/insights, profile graphs, segmentation, and activations. All the teams are dev/ops focussed and own the end to end pipelines from development through production and support.We solve customer problems with brilliant simplicity, style, and panache. We make it easy. We make it work!This is a great opportunity for an Engineer Leader to join our dynamic engineering team to help shape and drive the future of Salesforce s Customer data platform. Candidates should possess deep experience in object-oriented programming on top engineering teams, and derive joy from delivering their work to customers in short, high-feedback cycles. Come and join us! Job Responsibilities:Facilitate team stand-ups, planning, and review meetings as Scrum master and functional manager. Code and design reviews for new functionality and bug fixes. Interview, hire, and onboard new developers to the team. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and assistance to direct reports. Participate in cross-functional planning and reviews with leads from the Product Management and Quality Assurance functions. Write performance appraisals and career planning for direct reports. Manage escalations, production issues, and new product deployments to customers.Desired Skill Set:In depth knowledge and experience in: Object-oriented programming language, java preferred but not a requirement; customer issues management; and organizational and process management. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.Required Skills/Experience: Masters / Bachelors degree required in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Equivalent ExperienceMust have leadership (not just management) experience. Must be able to guide and work with engineering teams, cross functional units, and upper-management.Experience building and delivering highly scalable, reliable, and complex software systems on-time and on budget.Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous integration, build processes, testing, and operations.Experience with Agile development methodologies.
