What you will do This is a management position that contributes and achieves results through others. The role is responsible for managing subordinates in professional jobs or managing through subordinate managers / supervisors or is a leader of process that achieves results through others, whom are direct or not direct reports. The job requires professional knowledge gained through substantial applicable work experience, to supplement formal knowledge, in order to apply principles and concepts of own discipline in resolving issues as they arrive. The job has full management of a team, including management of people, defining roles and responsibilities, planning for the department's future needs and operations, counselling employees on performance and contributing to employee pay decisions or changes. This job typically requires a degree or equivalent and a minimum of 6 or more years experience. Actively contribute towards People management, development and overall engagement of the team, develop healthy projects pipeline for team and identify design and development activities for projects. Interfaces with divisional counterparts in US and elsewhere to define project timelines and assign resources for product design and development. Work with divisional counterparts to establish the communication plan with various departments, follow-up with stakeholders to complete the project within timelines, take ownership of project deliverables. Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for managing high performance team of individuals to create world class medical devices. Responsible for overall engagement of the team. Responsible for the timely and quality deliveries of the tasks assigned to the team. Work as point of contact for all people related aspects with the stakeholders. Review meetings with the team to monitor progress of projects and provide guidance, develop contingent plans, and arrange resources as needed. Contribute to absorption of new technologies, processes and methods by making them part of own team's delivery plan. Communicating frequently across all project disciplines to ensure project team and senior management are aware of upcoming milestones and risks/issues. Develop Individual Development plans and conduct staffing reviews, 9 Box. Develop an environment to focus on customer needs, and an organization that has advanced understanding of external and internal customers to effectively improve design quality of products and services. Develop an open culture to instill confidence, diversity of perspectives and knowledge sharing. Compliance to Quality Management System and Design Controls. Manage appropriate budgets in accordance with business plans under the necessary guidance. Align dedicated and shared resources cross-functionally to optimize to ensure achievement of business results, acquire and develop middle to junior level resources as needed, manage pipeline. Ensure continual improvement in customer satisfaction, delivering higher value services and productivity. Managing partnerships with vendors and other SMEâ€TMs as needed. Manage knowledge at various spectrums appropriately to avoid losing it and help newcomers pick it up fast. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Must have experience of handling a team with diverse functions like Mechanical, Software, Electronics and Electrical engineers. Will supervise 5+ engineers including which may include PMs, Sr. Design and Staff engineers. Must have Strong People Management skills with proven records of leading and creating engaged teams. Ability to influence, motivate and lead the team. Short or medium term vision, building team, inspire others, courage and organizing. What you need: Well versed in New Product Development Process Product Design & development of either of mechanical, software and electro-mechanical components, preferably Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical. Working knowledge in Pro-E, Solidworks or any other 3D high end softwares. Knowledge of FEA, Machining technologies, Marking Methods like Laser marking, Engraving, Stamping, Silk screening, injection molding etc. Good experience in dFMEA, DFM, Basic GD&T, Tolerance Stack-up. Concept design and development. Knowledge of manufacturing process. Very good Knowledge of Engineering Change Process. Design Verification and Validation. Design and Risk Management documents. Knowledge of Microsoft Project, SharePoint etc. Additional Good experience of working with multiple teams and collaborating across geographically spread multi-functional teams. Excellent communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Blueprint/Engineering schematic/drawings reading and interpretation. US FDA quality regulations 21CFR part 820. ISO 13485 standards. NC/CAPA process. Strong communication, analytical, and problem solving skills Goal oriented, strong sense of responsibility, and ability to work with cross functional teams Requirement to work shifted hours when necessary to accommodate US time zone. Desired Profile Education B.Tech/B.E/M.Tech/MS. â€“ Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering Experience: Total upto 10-14 years, 7-8 yearsâ€TM hands-on experience on technical and/or project management fields and minimum 4-6 years in role of people management recently.
