Job Overview: Work in the Architecture group, completely owning the Production Incident Management by collaborating with L2 Support and Engineering Teams, and empowering users with high availability and reliability of our software systems and services Skill-Sets Needed: Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system healthBuild software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applicationsImprove reliability and quality of our software systemsMeasure and optimize system performance, with an eye towards pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improveProvide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large distributed software applicationsAbility to program with one or more high level languages, such as Python, Java, Ruby, Javascript Experience with distributed storage technologies like NDS, AWS EBS, S3 etc...Proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecksGood knowledge of Operating Systems (Linux) and networking fundamentals and server hardwareExperience of working with AWS infrastructure and services like EC2, EBS, S3, Route 53, RDS, ALB etc...Familiar with DevOps environments / Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes will be added advantage)Knowledge of DevOps tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform)Knowledge of Apache, Nginx, HAProxy, Prometheus, Nagios, PanaoptaGood to know any one scripting language such as Shell scripting (or) PythonProject Management capabilities to plan, collaborate and execute various SRE initiatives with Development teamRoles & Responsibilities: Completely own Incident Management including creation and management of Runbooks for Production Incidents Handling and ManagementCollaborate with L2 and Engineering teams in resloving production incidents within given SLAs Conduct post-incident reviewsIdentify Service Level Indicators that will align the team to meet the high availability (99.9999%) and latency objectives Setup proactive monitoring and alerts to code changes in productionGather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault findingPartner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release proceduresParticipate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planningWhat working at SMS Magic Offers? – What is in it for you?At SMS Magic, partner growth is parallel to company’s growth and our work culture supports our commitment to creating a world class CRM messaging company.
