    Description

    About the Role

    :

    We're seeking a Development Manager with a solid background in software application development to work in our fast paced and dynamic environment. You will lead a team of highly talented client and backend developers across multiple time zones, and are responsible for the development and delivery of cloud-based remote management application that helps companies protect and manage hundreds of thousands of employees' devices, see Avast Business Hub. You will collaborate with other GEN product component managers, architects, and our business partners to design, develop, and deliver solutions that meet and exceed the requirements both from a functional standpoint as well as a systems performance perspective.

    Additional duties include technical solutions review, design documents, functional specifications, hiring, and promoting industry best practices. You must be passionate and driven to deliver best-in-class solutions that will drive the business into the future.

    What You Will Do in This Role

  • Assist in prioritizing development items by coordinating schedules/milestones with cross-functional stakeholders and clients
  • Review project plans; assign and review the work of professional software development engineers
  • Analyze development workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards, and setting deadlines. Monitors/manages the team's capability, capacity, progress and delivery
  • Can diplomatically set boundaries, keep teammates on schedule and proactively anticipate implications to project schedule of shifting dev priorities
  • Sense where performance breakdowns are occurring and proactively implement improvement actions
  • Must understand the subtle nuances of an Agile team/environment; provide coaching
  • Candidly provide feedback to and for the team in a clear, honest, and constructive manner; provide high visibility and communication regarding the health of projects
  • Possess the ability to write clear and concise requirements, acceptance criteria, and user stories

    • What You'll Need to be Successful in this Role

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of full-time software engineering experience
  • 5+ years of Agile development experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to understand business needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with RESTful API design & microservices
  • Working knowledge of source code control systems and release management (Jira, Git/Github, and associated workflows)
  • Strong work ethic, and excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, and passion for creating high-quality solutions
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Experience with Kubernetes, GCP
  • Experience with SQL technologies, Kafka
  • Experience with Java, React
