Position SummaryWe are looking for a Virtual Desktop (VDI) Engineer to join our IT team and will be responsible for architecting, designing, implementing and maintaining our virtual desktop environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesDeploy, configure, and troubleshoot virtual desktops and applications using Azure Virtual Desktops, Amazon Workspaces, Thin clients and VMware Horizon viewMonitor and optimize the performance, availability, and security of the VDI infrastructureProvide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staffCollaborate with other IT teams(I.E cyber & Networking) to ensure alignment and integration of VDI solutions with other systems and servicesResponsible for the design and implementation of all end-user Virtual computing devicesResearch and evaluate new technologies and best practices related to VDI Dev Ops, implement and monitor new service offerings to meet changing business needs.
Qualifications & ExperienceAt least 7 years of experience in VDI administration and engineeringProficient in Windows and Linux operating systems, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and virtual networkingExpert with Azure Virtual Desktops, Amazon Workspaces, Thin clients and VMware Horizon view features and capabilitiesRelevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified:
Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, or VMware Certified Professional - Desktop and Mobility are a plusExperience working with Amazon Workspace Virtual Desktop capabilities – Certifcations preferredExperience work with Microsoft Azure capabilities such as Windows Virutal Desktops.
Experience with Thin Client capabilities such as igel, Citrix, and VMWare.Experience with native Windows Desktop Operating Systems, Windows 10, Windows 11Ability to work independently and efficiently, with minimal supervisionExcellent teamwork, time-management and organizational skills
