Job Description – Sr. Full Stack Engineer (TypeScript + AWS)

Purpose of Position

Our growing team is searching for a talented next-generation Sr. Full Stack Software Engineer who excels at leveraging AI tools to build high-quality software faster and more efficiently. You will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of our next-generation platform while mastering AI-powered development workflows

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented engineer with a proven track record in both traditional software engineering and AI-enhanced development practices. You will work within one of our cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions that empower our engineering organization to achieve unparalleled performance and agility through intelligent automation.

· Application Stack: Typescript, MySQL/Postgres, NestJs, TypeORM, Sequelize, React, React-Native etc.

· Cloud Technologies: AWS cloud with containerised and serverless services like Lambda, Aurora Serverless, ECS, SQS, SNS etc.

· Orchestration Tooling: Infrastructure using CloudFormation, application orchestration through CDK, and process automation through Terraform.

· Developer Tooling: Local-stack and local containerised environments. TDD and BDD methodologies with full Scrum ceremonies.

· Observability: Datadog integrated into our workflow, plus AWS logging tools for comprehensive insights.

· Validate and optimize AI-generated code ensuring it meets security, performance, and maintainability standards

· Champion AI adoption across the engineering organization through mentorship and best practice sharing

Technical Excellence

· Expert proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, frameworks like React, NestJS and ORMs like TypeORM, Sequelize.

· Design and implement serverless and containerised architectures on AWS, utilizing Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, SQS, API Gateway and other AWS services

· Deliver thoroughly tested, secure, and maintainable code using AI tools to enhance quality while prioritizing customer needs

· Deep-dive troubleshooting through complex codebases and business flows, leveraging AI-assisted debugging techniques

· BAU Support for critical and escalated issues with AI-enhanced diagnostic capabilities

· Maintain 100% automation coverage of core build and deploy pipelines using cloud-native services and containers

· Lead automation initiatives to streamline processes, improve efficiencies and optimize cloud costs through intelligent automation, resulting in faster release cycles, reduced operational costs, and improved developer satisfaction.

Collaboration & Leadership

· Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to shape product strategy and direction

· Maintain comprehensive documentation of application architectures, design decisions, and AI tool integration strategies

· Translate business requirements into technical roadmaps and technology solutions that support business strategies

· Ensure technical delivery excellence meeting quality and timeline expectations on all projects

· Mentor and elevate team members on both traditional engineering skills and AI tool proficiency

· Share knowledge actively on effective AI development practices and emerging tool capabilities

Essential Requirements & Behaviour

Technical Foundation

· Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

· 8+ years' experience working with AWS cloud services, server-side software development, emphasizing software design and object-oriented programming proficiency in JavaScript, including expertise in TypeScript, , and React

· Strong skills in database design, encompassing relational, NoSQL, and OLAP databases

· Extensive hands-on experience with cloud platforms and serverless environments, such as Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and API Gateway

· Familiarity with software design principles, including Agile methodologies

· Proficient in modern testing frameworks like Jest, Cypress, Mocha, and Chai within a test-driven development framework

· Comprehensive understanding of front-end architecture and principles of data-driven development

· Solid experience in designing and implementing complex software solutions in cloud native environment

· Experience working with Amazon AWS services like AWS Lambda, SQS, API Gateway, CDK (see tech stack above)

AI Development Proficiency

· Demonstrated expertise in AI-powered development environments (GitHub Copilot, Cursor IDE, or similar)

· Proven experience building and deploying AI agents for development automation and repetitive task management

· Strong proficiency in leveraging LLMs (OpenAI, Claude) for code generation, review, and optimization

· Understanding of AI limitations with ability to validate, test, and optimize AI-generated code effectively

· Experience with prompt engineering for development-specific AI interactions and workflow automation

· Track record of improving development velocity and code quality through strategic AI tool adoption

· Knowledge of AI development best practices including responsible AI usage, bias detection, and quality assurance

Professional Skills

· Exceptional communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences

· Able to work effectively in a team, as well as independently when required

· Working with offshore teams is desirable

· Mentorship capabilities for guiding team members on both traditional engineering and AI-enhanced development practices

Certifications (Highly Desirable)

· AWS certification is highly desirable but not mandatory

· ITIL certification is highly desirable but not mandatory

· AI/ML development certifications or demonstrable AI tool expertise
