    Description

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled and proactive Release Engineer / System Administrator to manage, automate, and enhance the build, deployment, and environment management processes. The ideal candidate will support development and QA environments, manage release workflows, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and ensure high availability across platforms and systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop, maintain, and analyze tools that support automation of software product releases
    • Manage version control, builds, and release processes in line with engineering best practices
    • Administer and monitor load balancers, firewalls, webservers, application servers, and databases
    • Provide daily monitoring and operational support for Development and QA environments
    • Coordinate deployments across all environments, including production
    • Solve complex release engineering problems using best practices
    • Create and maintain AnthillPro workflows and ensure the tool is updated and optimized
    • Write and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Perl, or equivalent scripting languages
    • Administer and manage SVN repositories, including access control and custom hooks
    • Manually apply critical off-schedule code and SQL patches when required
    • Troubleshoot performance issues in the application, environment, and database layers
    • Diagnose and resolve host-level or system-level issues
    • Design, implement, and enforce configuration management and change control processes

    Skills Required:

    • bachelor's degree in computer science, mis, or related field (or equivalent experience)
    • 4+ years in system administration or release engineering
    • strong understanding of software development lifecycle and scm best practices
    • hands-on experience with ant, shell scripting, perl, or python
    • experience with anthillpro, build forge, or cruise control
    • expertise in scm tools such as svn, cvs, or perforce (svn preferred)
    • strong experience in unix/linux environments
    • working knowledge of weblogic server and high-volume linux systems
    • experience with netscaler load balancers
    • strong troubleshooting skills across network, system, and java/web applications
    • experience in oracle 10g, mysql, and sql performance tuning
    • virtualization experience (oracle vm or vmware) preferred
    • excellent communication and collaboration skills
    • ability to handle tasks under pressure and prioritize effectively
