About the Role:

The Plant Head will lead end-to-end operations of a high-volume, technology-driven printing and packaging manufacturing facility at Gandhinagar. This role requires strategic leadership, global supply chain expertise, strong operational acumen, and deep exposure to automation-led manufacturing ecosystems.

The incumbent will be responsible for operational excellence, cost optimization, quality compliance, scalability, and P&L performance while ensuring world-class service levels for global e-commerce fulfilment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Plant Leadership & Operations Management

• Lead the complete production lifecycle: pre-press, printing (digital/offset/flexo/UV), post-press, finishing, packaging, and dispatch.
• Drive capacity planning and scalable manufacturing aligned with global demand.
• Ensure optimal machine utilization, predictive maintenance, and downtime reduction.
• Lead large-scale workforce management (engineers, supervisors, operators, logistics teams).
• Own plant-level P&L, budgeting, and financial performance.

2. Manufacturing Excellence & Automation

• Implement Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive automation-led transformation including AI-enabled workflow management and smart manufacturing systems.
• Integrate ERP systems for real-time production visibility and decision-making.
• Reduce lead times, minimize waste, and enhance throughput efficiency.

3. Global Supply Chain & EXIM Operations

• Manage international procurement and strategic vendor partnerships.
• Oversee EXIM operations, customs compliance, freight optimization, and cross-border documentation.
• Collaborate with global logistics providers and 3PL partners to ensure seamless international fulfilment.
• Develop sourcing strategies for cost optimization and risk mitigation.

4. Operational Excellence & Cost Optimization

• Drive data-driven decision-making for forecasting, inventory control, and resource planning.
• Optimize raw material consumption and inventory accuracy.
• Improve operational margins through process innovation and efficiency programs.
• Establish robust KPI dashboards to track performance metrics.

5. Quality, Compliance & Sustainability

• Ensure compliance with ISO, GMP, FSC, and international printing standards.
• Implement stringent quality control frameworks to minimize defects and rework.
• Lead sustainability initiatives including eco-friendly printing, waste reduction, and emissions control.
• Ensure adherence to statutory, safety, and environmental regulations.

6. Leadership & Organizational Development

• Build and mentor high-performing cross-functional teams.
• Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Drive global best practice adoption and international knowledge transfer.
• Strengthen leadership bench strength for long-term scalability.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Printing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Additional qualifications in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in large-scale printing, packaging, or manufacturing operations.
• Proven experience managing high-volume, automation-driven production facilities.
• Strong international exposure in supply chain and EXIM operations.
• Expertise in ERP systems, AI-driven workflows, and process automation.
• Demonstrated success in cost optimization, operational scaling, and plant P&L management.
