    Description

    PhillipCapital is a Singapore-based financial services company with Assets under custody of US$ 50bn and Net worth of above US$2.5bn. It's present in 15 countries across the globe.

    In India, this firm has been around for 25 years. This was ex-MF Global in India before PhillipCapital took it over in 2012. Headquartered in Mumbai with 500 people across sell-side research, broking, NBFC, wealth management and merchant banking.

    Merchant banking desk was started in 2018. And we have raised capital of 1500 cr+ across QIPs, PEs and structured finance deals. Now we are looking to bring main board IPOs of mid-market companies. And hence looking to add a first team member to our ECM placement team. We already have 7 member team in equity sales (sell-side research) but this person will join us on the ECM/IB side.

    Job Description:

    1. Maintain relationships with various institutional investors- PMS, AIFs, Small cap MFs, and Family offices: Call them for our conferences, share our sell-side research and assist them with any requirements they have at their end

    2. Show them investing opportunities: Pre-IPO, IPO, co-investment deals

    3. Assist them in providing all the decision-making support from our research and databases

    4. Continuously help them monitor these transactions

    5. Also develop new sets of cross-border investors in new geographies- Middle East, Singapore, HK etc.

    Skill sets & experience:

    1. Applicant should have min. 5 years of experience in capital markets with at least the last 2 years in a placement/sales role wherein the applicant would have working relationships with target investor institutions. Should have worked on past transactions, preferably in small-sized issuances with a market capitalization below Rs1000cr and issue sizes of Rs100-500cr

    2. As a result, the applicant will come with an existing set of relationships with target investor groups- PMS, AIFs, Small cap MFs, and Family offices. The applicant will have good people skills- communication, the knack for keeping in touch regularly and softer relationship maintenance skills

    3. Passion towards capital markets

    Incoming candidate will have a chance to expand the placement team as the department grows. Travel to new geographies and leverage the existing national and international network. Work with a closely knit team which has a more flat reporting structure.
