Junior Tutor Position

BITS Law School, BITS Pilani (Greater Mumbai Campus) welcomes applications for the position of Junior Tutor at the BITSLAW Writing Centre (BWC) for the Academic Year 2025-26.

The Junior Tutor will assist BWC faculty with research into and development of appropriate teaching materials in relation to Academic Writing. They will contribute to the ongoing development and design of the BWC curriculum, supporting a research-led and scholarly approach to student learning.

The selected candidate will conduct one-on-one writing tutorials with BITSLAW students, helping them with their writing across various situations. They will also coordinate with the BWC Administrative contact and assist with day-to-day tasks, event organizing, and record-keeping for the Writing Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting one-on-one writing tutorials with BITSLAW students
• Contributing to the design of the BWC curriculum
• Coordinating with the BWC Administrative contact
• Supporting faculty with workshops on critical and academic writing
• Conducting sensitization sessions on plagiarism and unfair means

Essential Qualifications:

• A postgraduate degree in English literature or any Social Science discipline
• Demonstrable interest and strong written work in critical, academic writing

Preferred Requirements:

• Previous tutoring experience
• Familiarity with research methods and different modes of writing
• Experience working in an academic or research environment
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
