bellboy is a SaaS solution for vacation rentals and independent hotels to digitize the guest journeys (from check in to check out) and automate the housekeeping and property care operations. Our platform seamlessly manages the entire guest journey, from check-in to check-out, including communication via AI-driven chat and voice bots. We also streamline interactions between property owners and third-party partners such as housekeeping entities, optimizing every aspect of the operational journey

About the job

bellboy is a startup, and in that spirit we operate in a very fast paced and dynamic way. We are looking for an ambitious and aggressive leader who is willing to take on the mantle of technical lead for BellBoy.

As a Tech Lead we expect you to take a pivotal role in leading the technological direction of the company. You will have to manage & build a strong and capable engineering team and drive quick execution to deliver aggressive product targets.

Due to the early nature of the project, development on your part will be required in order to meet the aggressive targets, however as the team expands this will be less required.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for BellBoy.
• Manage and build a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, automation and data processing systems.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in Django framework (Python) and React JS.
• Integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic for end-to-end ownership of the product.
• Ensure aesthetic and UX-friendly interfaces along with the cross-functional team
• Design, implement and maintain the architecture for the overall system.
• Ensure system scalability, reliability, and security.
• Implement efficient and secure data storage and retrieval mechanisms.
• Work closely with the founders to develop technical strategies
• Enforce coding standards and best practices within the team.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for code, APIs, and system architecture.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in software development languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or Ruby
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
• Strong understanding of database management systems and SQL
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to lead and manage a team of developers
• Experience with agile development methodologies
• Knowledge of mobile application development and responsive web design
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
