    Primary Purpose

    Actively implements the Vision of Vibgyor High/Kids across all facets of the school.

    Key Responsibilities

    Primary Responsibility

    Academic Operations

    • Channel of communication from the Resource team to the management, coordinators, class teachers and parents.


    • Implementation of IEP according to timelines


    • Ensure maintenance of files and timely updates.


    • Set up meeting with parents with clear agenda (sharing of goals, request for facilitator)


    • Strategic planning of Long term goals of students


    • Ensure availability of Planners (Point of content and Templates of Activities) to Special Educators


    • Approve of all IEPs and Sharing of Goals with Parents and professionals

    Planning of workshops

    • Workshops for teacher to create awareness about Special education and give simple strategies for teachers
    • Send members of Resource room team to other workshops for up gradation of skills
    • Arrange for professionals to speak to parents on life skill issues
    • Counseling sessions for other students within school to increase awareness and empathy.

    Reporting to the management on:

    • Report on Long term planning of each student
    • Parent concerns and resolution
    • Progress report of each case
    • Workshop planning
    • Approval for any co ordination required from Grade/SPA Coordinators
    • Report of Quarterly and Annual Parent Teacher Meeting
    • Assessment reports of each case to be supervised and approved
    • Team building and positive interaction of Resource team to increase trans-disciplinary implementation.
    • Advice and Guide the Team on IEP planning, strategies and implementation.
    • Keep communication open with coordinators to identify issues in collaboration.
    • Conduct weekly meetings to discuss information, issues and case studies. Ensure minutes of weekly
    • meeting is recorded and filed.
    • Organizing Screening test of Learning Disability for Grade 3 Students
    • Conducting Vocational Guidance Programme for Grade 8 and Grade 10 Students
    • Maintaining File record of Resource students who are availing paid sessions and reporting the same to Fee department and Principal
    • Filling out appraisal for team members
    • Follow the admission procedure as per the Inclusion Policy (i.e. screening, identification, approval etc.)
    • Taking rounds of the school and inspecting Resource students in classroom environment.
    • Designing modules on Life Skills
    • Maintaining temporary case records
    • Taking parent meetings
    • Taking interview of special students
    • Conduct various workshops with the students as per the request of the principal
    • Forwarding the formal psychological evaluation reports to the respective boards

    Secondary Responsibility:

    Communication:

    • Head Counselor/Coordinator to Team Members
    • Head counselor needs to communicate information, directives and suggestions to the the team members via email and during the weekly meeting.
    • Head Counselor/Coordinator to Class teachers
    • Head counselor needs to inform class teachers via Grade Coordinator about any individual student via email with a copy to the Principal.
    • Head Counselor/Coordinator to Management
    • Head counselor also needs to report to the management on all IEP decisions and or any other major decision regarding students.
    • Head counselor/Service Designate to Parent
    • Head Counselor/Service Designate will communicate to the parent about IEP, Concessions, Exemptions and Strategies during the Parent meeting. These communication need to be given in writing and any parent concern needs to be recorded in minutes of the meeting. The minutes should be conveyed to the concerned authorities. All communication to the parent must be approved by the Head Counselor/Coordinator.

    Desired Qualification

    • M.A. in Clinical / Counseling Psychology
    • Any course relevant to Special Ed

    Experience

    • Hard -core experience with slow learners/ dyslexics ( Special Educators)
    • Experience in dealing with ADHD, ADD and Multiple disabilities (Counselor)
