Job Role - Financial Writer
We're hiring to build out our reporting team As our business is growing sharing financial
information with key stakeholders is a key factor to facilitating the business's growth. As a
dedicated member of our reporting team, you'll play a key role in fostering that success. We are
looking for a highly motivated individual with the skills and qualifications who can manage the
responsibilities below.
Reporting Structure:
• The Senior Analyst will report to the Senior Vice President of Applications Development
Responsibilities:
The Financial Report Writer is responsible for designing and developing custom-built data reports
and dashboards by collaborating with firm management. This position works in conjunction with csuite executives, directors, and firm management in obtaining reporting requirements that include
data specifics, formatting, and design. The Report Writer will identify report data requirements and
utilize various accounting programs, Microsoft Excel, and SQL in the creation of these reports.
Once created the Report Writer will review the documents for accuracy and ensure all
requirements are met and the information is accurate.
• Data Extraction and Transformation:
o Extract raw data from various sources (databases, spreadsheets, APIs,
etc.).
o Transform and cleanse data using tools like Excel.
• Report Creation and Validation:
o Create comprehensive reports, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
o Perform data validations and quality checks.
• Collaboration and Communication:
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand reporting
requirements and data flows
o Assist in management and mentorship other analysts
o Work independently.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Excel Proficiency:
o Strong command of Excel for data manipulation and analysis.
o Advanced Excel skills.
• SQL Experience:
o 2-3 years T-SQL experience.
• Communication Skills:
o Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
o Dealing directly with US clients to ensure clear
communication.
• Understanding of Data Flows:
o Ability to comprehend data flows and ensure efficient data processing.
• Organized
o Be able to track and manage a large number of ad hoc report requests and
reporting enhancements to discuss with the team and identify key
requirements.
o Extreme attention to detail.
• Optional
o Total Experience: 7+ years
o Experience with Aderant or other legal financial software would be big
plus.
