Responsibilities

• Before surgery: Conduct preoperative assessments, evaluate patient health, and determine the safest anesthesia plan. 
• During surgery: Administer anesthesia, continuously monitor vital signs such as heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels, and adjust the anesthesia as needed. 
• After surgery: Provide post-operative care to manage pain, monitor patient recovery, and ensure a safe transition out of anesthesia. 
• Pain management: Manage both acute surgical pain and chronic pain through regional and local anesthetics, as well as prescribe pain-relieving medications. 
• Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff to create and implement patient care plans. 
• Record keeping: Maintain detailed records of anesthesia administered, patient responses, and other relevant medical information. 
• Emergency care: Provide emergency and pre-hospital care when required.
