    UNIT HEAD LAMINATES/MDF/PVC - BADVEL KADAPPA

    1.

    Position Description :


    The client is an established growing company in the home furnishing space, being among the best plywood manufacturers in India.

    The client brings to the table functional benefits with their innovative range of products, covering a range of solutions covering the living room, bedroom, bathroom, or kitchen, as also evolved office space designs.

    The client is looking for a Unit head to manage three big manufacturing Units in South India.

    Looking for someone who has strong leadership skills and the ability to approach business with a strategic point of view.


    Looking for a person bringing a unique mix of operations and management expertise, plus proficiency with the practices, policies, and procedures of the industry.

    2.

    Roles & Responsibilities :

    a. ESTABLISH, LEAD AND MANAGE ALL MANUFACTURING AND PLANT OPERATIONS FOR LAMINATES PAN INDIA

    i. Responsible for monitoring/review of Plant operations/efficiency improvement programs and driving dedicated teams to achieve the as per AOP/Plan targets

    ii. Drive Engineering, technology/equipment selection and Project management for new Production facility setup and achieve operational startup

    iii. Review and approve manpower and resource planning requirements - new roles within the manufacturing organization and finalization of temporary manpower contracts

    iv. Responsible and manage all Statutory, regulatory and financial compliance requirements for each of the plant operations

    b. SUPPORT AND ENABLE EFFECTIVE PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT FOR PRODUCTS, RAW MATERIALS, SKU

    i. Review and continuously monitor cost structure for the Raw Materials, Finished goods Product SKU and provide guidance/support to Sales and PMG

    ii. Lead and control critical Raw Material procurement for Paper at Plant level

    c. REVIEW AND MONITOR SUPPLY RISKS AND REVIEW/ADJUST RM INVENTORY/ADVANCE ORDERING NORMS/ACTIONS

    i. Support and work on Product Development and product portfolio for each plant in line with the market expectations and inputs from Sales/PMG/Marketing

    ii. Establish and Lead New Product Category/Product development

    d. DELIVER AND DRIVE QUALITY AND COST TARGETS AND FOCUS ON CONTINUAL IMPROVEMENT

    i. Monitor and review Product and Process quality parameters and direct/ review quality improvement/corrective initiatives

    ii. Lead and ensure compliance to Plant operations quality certification standards ISO 9001 / ISO 450001

    iii. Review and monitor manufacturing cost structure identify areas for continuous cost improvement.

    e. ENSURE SAFE, SUSTAINABLE, RISK MANAGED OPERATIONS

    i. Lead and setup Sustainability Review organizational processes, SOP for each manufacturing plant (Including new plants) to adhere

    ii. Periodic review and monitoring of Sustainability scorecard and publish Sustainability report including progress made to the Board

    iii. Continuously review and monitor Supply chain and RM Pricing/Availability risks through analysis of global trends, information and analysis. Cultivate appropriate channels for information collection for risk reviews

    iv. Lead Plant operations teams to identify and define a comprehensive risk management plan incorporating all known risks.

    v. Ensure the Risk management plans are periodically tested for efficacy in mitigating risks e.g. Fire risk - Mock fire drill/Plant outage risks due to floods? Etc.

    vi. Facilitate and lead compliance to Employee Health and Safety policy and standards (ISO

    vii. Manage and drive liaison with local, state and national safety compliance agencies and Plant operations guidelines - Factories Act, Labour contract, ESI, PF, CPCB

    f. OWN AND DRIVE THE P&L OF THE UNIT

    i. Ensure Operating cash flow levels as per plan

    ii. Drive the critical parameters to achieve Gross profit margin

    iii. Ensure optimal cost targets in achieving Net profit margin as per AOP

    iv. Manage and ensure net working capital as per plan

    v. Closely work with the CEO to ensure Return on equity (ROE)

    g


    Key Skill Set :
    Core Skills

    i. Technical understanding and expertise in Woods Engineered products manufacturing equipment and technology

    ii. Expertise in evaluation of Paper Raw Materials for DECO/LAM

    iii. Expertise in Cost Management and Pricing

    iv. Customer engagement and New Product introduction

    v. Project Management skills for new project expansions

    vi. Managing Discrete Batch based (significantly manual Operations intensive) Shop floors

    vii. Problem solving, attention to details and Numerical aptitude

    Desirable Skills/Experience

    viii. Knowledge and understanding of New Surfaces and developments in Technologies

    • Experience of discrete manufacturing industry and processes. Laminates/Textile/Paper industry experience
    • Experience of leading plant operations for Channel Partner/Distribution based business with significant Imported Raw Materials

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :


    a. B.Tech from a Tier 1 or 2 Institution

    b. Preferably an MBA from a Tier 2 or above institute
