Job Summary:

Moris Media seeks a talented and fashion-forward designer to create our moCal ready-to-wear line. You'll bring your unique vision to life, crafting a sophisticated executive-level dress code for both men and women. This exciting role blends creativity with business savvy, as you research trends, design garments, and collaborate with our team to ensure designs align with moCal's brand identity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Trend Translation: Stay ahead of the curve, utilizing market research to identify emerging trends in executive fashion. Translate this knowledge into fresh designs, fabrics, and techniques.
• Conceptual Vision: Develop seasonal themes, mood boards, and color palettes. Present your concepts and samples to buyers and other stakeholders.
• Design Execution: Create original sketches by hand and produce detailed technical drawings for development.
• Collaborative Mindset: Partner with technical designers, production teams, and other departments to refine designs and ensure a seamless process from sketch to final product.
• Business Acumen: Understand our target market and business goals, ensuring that your design aesthetic complements the moCal brand and broader product strategy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in design, fine arts, fashion design, or a closely related field.
• 2+ years of proven design experience, preferably in professional or executive wear.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel.
• Availability for occasional travel (research, sourcing, etc.).
• Exceptional hand-sketching abilities.
• Deep understanding of fabrics, trims, and garment construction.
• Experience in pattern-making or sample production is a plus.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
• A keen eye for detail and high-quality standards.
