    POSITION NAME: INVENTORY & CHEMICALS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Inventory and Chemicals Management Specialist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for tracking inventory, maintaining accurate records, and managing the procurement of chemicals for our facility. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Inventory Tracking:

    • Maintain accurate records of all inventory items, including chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
    • Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed to ensure adequate stock levels.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and address any issues promptly.

    2. Chemicals Management:

    • Coordinate the procurement of chemicals from approved suppliers.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines for the handling and storage of chemicals.
    • Monitor chemical usage and expiration dates to prevent waste and ensure product quality.
    • Dispose of expired or unused chemicals in accordance with company policies and regulations.

    3. Record Keeping:

    • Keep detailed records of all inventory transactions, including receipts, shipments, and adjustments.
    • Generate reports on inventory levels, usage trends, and procurement activities as needed.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of chemical inventories, including safety data sheets (SDS) and regulatory compliance records.

    4. Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other departments, such as purchasing, production, and quality control, to coordinate inventory needs and ensure timely delivery of materials.
    • Communicate effectively with suppliers to resolve issues, track orders, and negotiate pricing.

    5. Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in inventory management.
    • Implement best practices for inventory control and chemical handling to minimize risk and optimize resource utilization.

    QUALIFICATION

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as supply chain management, logistics, or chemistry.
    • Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
    • Strong knowledge of inventory control principles, including FIFO/LIFO, stock rotation, and cycle counting.
    • Familiarity with chemical handling procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
    • Proficiency in using inventory management software and MS Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in record-keeping and data analysis.

    BEST TO HAVE

    • Certification in supply chain management or inventory control (e.g., CPIM, CSCP).
    • Experience working with hazardous chemicals and managing chemical inventories in accordance with industry standards.
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This position will primarily be based in a laboratory or manufacturing facility. The candidate may be required to adhere strict safety protocols. Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to accommodate inventory activities and occasional overtime during peak periods.
