    Inv Product Strategy & Governance
    The Investment Product Strategy & Governance job manages a team of professionals and owns the product strategy lifecycle and governs the product development process. This job conceptualizes investment solutions and translates client needs into product requirements and creates go-to-market investment products. As a team manager, this job sets goals and objectives for team members and ensures policies and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports.

    Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Prepares proposals and presentations on product strategy and new product ideas and educates clientèle and stakeholders on product development trends.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for product initiatives and leads promotion efforts for new investment products.
  • Governs the product development and product messaging processes.
  • Takes into consideration feasibility, client need, market dynamics, and financial impact for input into the development of a product investment strategy.
  • Provides strategic direction for the investment product and executes the product roadmap with clear business expectations.
  • Leads product development opportunities and firm-wide initiatives that align with the organizational strategy.
  • Manages the periodic review of investment product performance and disseminates findings to key stakeholders.
  • Manages team performance through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional services and engagement, motivation, and team development.

    About the Position

    The Business Operations group is responsible for streamlining Global Public Product processes and deliverables, using data, dashboards and workflow to facilitate collaboration and communication across the team and with key stakeholders and audiences. We are seeking an Associate Director who thrives at the intersection of data and insight to support the Global Public Product Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical and analytical background and experience leading teams and projects. The position provides project based and ongoing support for various product functions including strategy & development, management, execution, capital markets, treasury and oversight. The ideal candidate would have experience with market data services, business intelligence tools, programming and project management.

    The position represents an excellent opportunity to:

  • Help lead a team that provides analytics that drive product opportunities
  • Promote collaboration among team members through platform and workflow management
  • Enhance existing product reports and dashboards while developing new concepts
  • Provide various audiences (Global Product, Distribution, senior management, Nuveen Funds Board) with ongoing concise actionable insights
  • Major Responsibilities

  • Design and manage processes for the accurate and timely dissemination of product information across various Nuveen groups (i.e. Global Product, Sales/Distribution, Marketing and Portfolio Management)
  • Utilize internal and external databases (Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, FactSet) to lead team projects, synthesize data, and perform analysis
  • Implement automation opportunities while maintaining and monitoring data integrity
  • Assist with prioritization of technology and data needs
  • Build and maintain dashboards for a variety of key initiatives
  • Help design and manage platform for team collaboration and communication with key stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively and build trust with team members across Nuveen
  • Required Skills and Experience

  • Degree with strong academic credentials preferably in finance, statistics, mathematics, or technology related field
  • At least 8+ years experience in analysis and visualization software (Python, Tableau, Excel, VBA, SQL, R)
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including experience with collaboration and workflow tools and SharePoint design
  • Previous project management and team leader experience
  • Strong and well-developed analytical, problem-solving and quantitative skills
  • Excellent end-to-end generalist problem solving skills and ability to identify issues and analyses
  • Results oriented with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task across multiple projects
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Previous asset management experience
