    Job Summary

    :

    The Associate Engineer, R&D, Mechanical requires knowledge and experience and is accountable for collaborating with the R&D team in various locations to define, deliver and support design concepts, development & test automation systems. This role will also help to support business needs to deliver technical solutions for areas and production support in alignment with West product management groups from both local & global locations to understand the build of the test article, analyze and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings and models.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • With guidance, support, and supervision, learns the overall vision, business, and related activities.

    • With direction and guidance needs to proper interpretation of design specifications and drawings of robotics & automation systems using SolidWorks tool,

    • With technical support prepare instructions and operation manuals,

    • Works to build business knowledge and to transform this knowledge and business requirements into technical specifications.

    • Learn how to build and maintain strong relationships with the team and business to ensure collaboration and alignment within and outside of the R&D cross functional teams.

    • Monitor the system on daily basis on regular its performance,

    • Under mentorship expertise, solves complex problems, recommends architecture and processes, recommends changes to existing architecture and processes, and exceptions to architecture, technology, and process standards globally.

    • Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target.

    • Under supervision helps in drive agile and DevOps culture of implementation and product management culture.

    • Work with Vendors under supervision for design discussions & work with vendors to get high quality and precision components for assembly.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics & automations

    • Minimum 0 – 3 years of related work experience,

    Preferred knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Basic understanding of AutoCAD and SolidWorks

    • Basics of drafting: Proficiency in drafting standards (ANSI/AAMI/ISO , GD&T, design for manufacturability

    • Ability to understand different materials used in 3D printing as well as general fabrication.

    • Good knowledge on office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint

    •Comply with all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description

    •Comply with the company's safety and quality policies.

    Physical and Travel Requirements

    • 15% travel, including global travel.

    • Occasional on-call work required.

    • Prefer 12pm – 9pm India time. Willingness to work outside of these hours as needed.

    • Ability to work in a global and virtual environment and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
