    The Opportunity:

    As part of OpenText's Global Payroll function, the position will report directly to the Director of APAC/India Payroll, focusing on providing day-to-day management and coordination of the payroll staff for OpenText Employees in India. As part of a global team, you will seek to work with other Geography payroll managers in the identification of global issues and solutions on the regional level. Drive/assist special projects such as legal entity mergers, annual merit compensation, benefit open enrollment, all required year-end tax document processing and regular process improvement projects such a payroll and time & attendance solutions implementations.

    You are great at:

    • As a payroll subject matter expert, working with key stakeholders' groups such as global benefits, IT, payroll teams, finance, external and Internal auditors and accounting contacts to review, assess, and provide operational solutions needed for the satisfactory processing of payroll and related reporting.
    • Taking ownership of payroll processing to maintain efficient service delivery including payroll vendor management in a Managed Services environment.
    • As appropriate, providing quick and effective guidance during key payroll processing scheduling dates to ensure timely processing of pay. Escalate issues to the Director of APAC/India Payroll as appropriate.
    • Managing key payroll delivery cycles on an annual basis such as Benefits open enrollment, Stock Purchase plans, Long Term Incentive Payment cycles and year-end tax reporting document creation.
    • Paying special attention to high profile executive payroll processing including working with 3rd party accounting and tax advisors.
    • Support other special payroll and business-related projects and activities as required.
    • Significant experiences with payroll and time & attendance implementations and working within focused workgroups with team members from global payroll, IT, Human Resources, payroll vendors.
    • Perform all duties in accordance with strict payroll audit and SOX controls and in compliance with all statutory requirements.
    • Thorough Knowledge and experience in India labour law, Statutory and Payroll compliance.

    What it takes:

    • Functional experience in India payrolls in a multi-national company.
    • Ability to work with cross-functional key stakeholders in ensuring quality data is passed into the payroll systems for processing.
    • Building consensus with payroll operations and other key stakeholder teams to effectively process payroll and assess continuous improvements.
    • Continued education in Global Payroll best practices in the areas of payroll processing, transaction automation, functional/structure changes in payroll teams that would lead to enhanced efficiencies, accuracy, and cost management.
    • Financial systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
    • Advanced understanding of HCM systems such as SuccessFactors, Cloud Platform Integration & SAP payroll systems globally.
    • Excellent problem solving, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas in a high-paced environment.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Dedication to teamwork.
