    Overview

    Avrio is an international climate tech startup leveraging advancements in AI to decarbonize the real estate industry which is responsible for around 39% of global carbon emissions. As a Machine Learning Engineer at Avrio, you will play a crucial role in developing AI-powered solutions that enhance our product offerings and improve our clients' business outcomes. You will work closely with data scientists and cross-functional teams to build and deploy scalable machine learning models that are critical to our products' success.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyze energy, operations, and equipment maintenance data collected from customer sites to generate actionable insights.
    • Develop and deploy machine learning models for anomaly detection, alert categorization, and forecasting, aiming to optimize energy usage and operational performance.
    • Design and implement systems to automate the extraction of data from unstructured documents such as PDFs and images, enabling seamless integration with our platform.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts to refine algorithms and improve model performance.
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in data science and machine learning, contributing innovative ideas to enhance our product offerings.
    • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of machine learning pipelines and data processing infrastructure.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in data science, machine learning, and statistical analysis, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala, and experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
    • Solid understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, model evaluation, and deployment best practices.
    • Proven experience as a Machine Learning Engineer with a specific focus on applications involving power electronics, signal processing and/or high-resolution time series data is a plus.
    • Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) techniques and libraries for text and image data processing is a plus.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
