All hiring decisions will be based solely on qualifications, skills, and experience relevant to the job requirements.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Center Operations Manager to oversee the efficient and reliable operation of our data center environment. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a focus on continuous improvement to ensure the smooth functioning of network operations, infrastructure operations, application operations, monitoring, backup, maintenance, upgrades, and business as usual (BAU) activities for our SaaS product company. Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Center Operations Management:Lead and manage all aspects of data center operations, including network operations, infrastructure operations, and application operations.
    Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of the data center environment.
    Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of data center operations, making data-driven decisions to drive improvements.
  • Network Operations Management:Oversee the operation and maintenance of the data center network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other networking components.
    Coordinate with network engineers to ensure timely resolution of network issues, performance optimization, and capacity planning to meet business requirements.
    Implement network security measures, such as access controls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption, to protect the integrity and confidentiality of data.
  • Infrastructure Operations Management:Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware, storage systems, and virtualization platforms within the data center environment.
    Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of infrastructure components, including servers, storage arrays, and backup systems, to support business-critical operations.
    Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of system failures or disasters.
  • Monitoring, Backup, and Maintenance:Implement and manage monitoring tools and systems to proactively identify and address performance issues, security vulnerabilities, and capacity constraints.
    Establish backup and recovery processes for critical data and systems, performing regular backups, testing restores, and ensuring data integrity and availability.
    Plan and schedule routine maintenance activities, including hardware upgrades, software patches, and firmware updates, to minimize disruptions and ensure system reliability.
  • Business as Usual (BAU) Management:Manage day-to-day operations of the data center environment, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT support, engineering, and customer success, to address operational issues, prioritize tasks, and drive continuous improvement.
    Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing updates on operational status, performance metrics, and upcoming changes or maintenance activities.
  • Job Requirement What will you require to be successful in this role:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience 8-12 years in data center operations management, preferably in a SaaS product company or similar environment.
  • Strong technical background in network operations, infrastructure operations, and application operations, with hands-on experience in managing complex IT environments.
  • Experience with data center technologies, including networking, server hardware, storage systems, virtualization, and cloud computing platforms.
  • Proficiency in implementing and managing monitoring, backup, and maintenance tools and processes to ensure the reliability and availability of data center services.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of technical professionals.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CCNA, MCSE, or equivalent are a plus.
