    HR Manager – Operations

    Organisation: The Language SKOOL

    Location: India (Remote)

    Experience: 13–15 years

    CTC: ₹10 – ₹12 Lakhs per annum (based on experience)

    The Language SKOOL is a fast-growing, remote-first EdTech organisation with a diverse, multi-functional workforce operating across geographies. We function on a fully digitised HR ecosystem, where all people processes — from onboarding to exits — are managed through a robust HRMS framework.

    We are building a strong, compliance-driven, scalable HR foundation to support aggressive growth and operational excellence.

    Role Overview

    We are seeking a seasoned HR Manager – Operations who will lead the entire HR operations function, drive process governance, ensure statutory compliance, oversee payroll & employee lifecycle management, and manage the HR Operations team.

    Additionally, the role will oversee recruitment for select business verticals, ensuring timely hiring aligned to business growth plans.

    This is a leadership role requiring both strategic oversight and operational depth.

    Key Responsibilities

    HR Operations Leadership

    • Own and lead end-to-end HR operations across the organisation
    • Establish, refine, and standardise HR policies, SOPs, and process frameworks
    • Drive operational efficiency and HR process automation
    • Act as escalation authority for HR operational matters

    Payroll & Compliance Governance

    • Oversee monthly payroll processing through HRMS (preferably Keka HRMS)
    • Validate payroll inputs, approvals, and closures
    • Ensure statutory compliance (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, LWF, etc.)
    • Coordinate with finance for reconciliations and reporting
    • Ensure audit-readiness at all times

    Employee Lifecycle Management

    • Govern onboarding, confirmations, transfers, and exits
    • Supervise Full & Final settlements and clearance processes
    • Ensure documentation accuracy and legal compliance
    • Strengthen separation management protocols

    Recruitment Oversight (Select Verticals)

    • Oversee recruitment for designated verticals/functions
    • Partner with business heads to understand manpower planning
    • Monitor hiring pipelines, TAT, and closure ratios
    • Ensure structured interview processes and evaluation standards
    • Guide the recruitment team on offer structures and hiring decisions
    • Maintain recruitment data and reporting through HRMS

    HRMS & Data Governance

    • Own HRMS configuration, workflows, and data accuracy
    • Generate dashboards, MIS, and analytics for leadership
    • Maintain master data integrity
    • Drive digitisation and system optimisation

    Team Leadership & Capability Building

    • Lead and mentor the HR Operations team
    • Allocate responsibilities and define SLAs
    • Monitor performance and ensure accountability
    • Build a structured, disciplined operations culture

    Vendor & Stakeholder Management

    • Manage HRMS, job portals, payroll vendors, consultants
    • Review contracts and vendor performance
    • Act as HR SPOC for leadership and department heads

    Audit, Risk & Governance

    • Ensure compliance with labour laws and internal policies
    • Lead internal and external audits
    • Mitigate HR operational risks
    • Strengthen documentation and compliance controls

    Strategic HR Support

    • Support performance management cycles
    • Drive policy rollouts and HR communication
    • Contribute to organisation scaling strategy
    • Provide operational HR insights to leadership

    Must-Have Skills & Experience

    • 13–15 years of core HR Operations experience
    • Strong payroll governance experience through HRMS
    • Hands-on expertise in employee lifecycle & exit management
    • Experience managing HR Operations teams
    • Experience overseeing recruitment/hiring for business verticals
    • Strong understanding of Indian labour laws & compliance
    • Vendor management exposure
    • Process-driven, detail-oriented, and audit-ready mindset

    Good to Have

    • Hands-on experience with Keka HRMS
    • Experience in remote-first or high-growth organisations
    • Experience setting up or restructuring HR operations frameworks
