- Complying with all legal requirements stated by the drug controller's office, India
- Monitoring daily/periodic quality control within predetermined limits
- Stock taking, placing indents and maintaining stock register for blood bank.
- Ensuring maintenance of all relevant documentation
- Performing and assisting routine blood bank procedures.
- Ensuring that preventive/ corrective maintenance and calibration of equipment is done, as and when required
- Ensuring optimum calibration of reagents
- Validating test results
- Assisting in revising existing and introducing new standard operating procedures
- Participating in teaching programs of hospital/ laboratory.
- Findings ways of reducing expenses.
- Ensuring that the blood bank premises are kept clean and donor friendly at all times.
- Demonstrating professional conduct and interpersonal communication skills with patients, laboratory personnel, other health care professionals, and with the public.
- Applying basic scientific principles in learning new techniques and procedures.
- Exploring possibilities of adding new services in the blood bank.
