    PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

    Responsible for the building solutions for enterprise data warehouse, data lake and cloud analytical platform solutions. This engineer is responsible for analysis, design, development, and on-going support for assigned programs and projects. Partner with other team members in the architecture and design for enterprise warehousing, cloud data platform and data management initiatives to deliver solutions.

    Data Engineer focus:

    · Good knowledge of data warehousing, Hadoop, data lakes, data analytics, data management, data governance and/or BI.

    · Good understanding of cloud analytics/Data service offering, Cloud architecture and economics.

    · Has industry and business process knowledge, operations knowledge.

    · Improve existing methods, techniques and / or processes across job areas.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


    • Responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and support of data stores used for reporting and analytics (data lake, data warehouse systems and related data marts).


    • Coordinates with peers from other clinical and IT groups to ensure successful design, planning and completion of programs and projects.


    • Understands business requirements and priorities to shape the scope and requirements of the Data Warehouse solution.


    • Performs data analysis and data provisioning against source systems


    • Documents technical specifications for the design of data integration and data architecture.


    • Develops the ETL, database and system code to acquire, integrate and load data to our data lake, data warehouse systems and related data marts


    • Performs unit testing to assure quality repeatable, quality processes with accurate data results.


    • Supports Quality Assurance engineers in the data quality testing of systems built.


    • Installs processes for auditing target data stores and ensuring data quality


    • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using Informatica, Python, SQL and AWS 'big data' technologies.


    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:

    Bachelor's Degree; Advanced Degree preferred (in Computer/Health Information Systems, concentration in IT) or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:


    • Bachelor's Degree and 2-4 years of experience (in Information Systems, including software design/development in: Oracle, SQL, Informatica Power Center, and/or AWS data services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience


    • Experience leading technology project teams.


    • Exp. working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases – On-prem ( Oracle, SQL Server) & Cloud(Snowflake & Redshift)


    • Experience building and optimizing on prem ETL pipelines through Informatica, Python through optimal architectures and data sets.


    • Good Knowledge on AWS services – EC2, Lambda, EMR, S3, RDS, Glue, Redshift, Kinesis, lake formation, Cloud watch, elastic search, Athena.


    • Familiar with analysis and design methodologies for full system development life cycles.


    • Must have strong problem-solving skills.
