Description
Experience: 15 to 20 years
Build-up & Lead R&D in India for BA UX with 200+ engineers
Leadership
Lead dedicated SW, FT and Q engineering groups in TCI (10 directs, ~ 200+ total)
Lead extended teams @ external partners
Inspire/motivate Local Leaders/Manager/Teams to come up with lowest cost/best performance R&D solution
Leverage synergies and force re-use across customer projects
Drive methodical and organizational changes as necessary
Dynamic Staffing of SW Project Teams and Taskforces
Strive for quality excellence and push for innovations
QA
Responsible for SW-quality of the customer projects under the responsibility of TCI
Perform/Organize SW gate reviews for all projects in TCI responsibility
Supervise SW KPIs and PCC for TCI projects on a regular basis
Trigger LL management & best practice sharing
Assure proper/deep testing, traceability as well as failure analysis across SW
Planning
R&D SW, FT and Q estimations & R&D budget planning for local projects in TCI
Cost Center planning
Resource planning
People Development & Training planning
Strategy
Define India SW application strategy (generic, dedicated technologies / roadmaps and skills needed)
Develop SW Application vision for location India and assigned customer projects regarding roles/skills/methodology

The role has multifunctional responsibilities:
Leading Leaders:
Leading Leaders (Lean Agile Leaders with their assigned employees) and Leading Business strategies (Business Owners)
Coaching and guiding leaders to improve business & program metrics
Developing new leaders
Organization Vision & Strategy:
Define and achieve the vision for the R&D India
Defining and achieving KPIs for R&D India
Builds up strategic technology competencies with respect to product portfolio/ program development
Drive the Heat management strategies into R&D India
Represent Business Area UX in Continental India, SCT Management, Tech Center India, Automotive Quality, cross BA Initiatives
Transforming the organization into agile organization
Central Functions Engagement:
Closely working with Tech Center India management team and central functions for Controlling, HR, Central Quality, Facility and IT topics
Represent Business Area UX in location related audits
Budget Management:
Manage SW Development Center budget for the Cost Centers
Manage SW Development Center invest and expenses
Manage SW Ramp-up India project
Supplier Management:
Define supplier strategy
Prepare Statement of work and evaluate external supplier
External Service budget planning
Responsible for External Service Delivery and Acceptance
Employee Capability Management:
Drive employees to operational excellence and ensure individual growth in competencies valuable for business/ program
Skill gap analysis and closing gaps
Build high performing teams
Develop technical experts
Resource Management:
Resource hiring, allocation and effective utilization
Training/ talent/ performance management of resources
Resource Retention
Responsible for resolving resource conflicts
Project Management (15+ projects in 2020):
Accountable for the quality of delivery of the project teams
Accountable for delivery on time and on budget of the project teams
Ensure customer & stakeholder satisfaction, handle escalations
This role has a major influence on the total success of the department

This role demands effective communication with Global SW Head, Tech Center India Head, Continental India Head and timely to Global R&D Head
This role also demands communicating to public media for HMI SW Development Center India branding
The role also needs effective communication and negotiation skills with External Supplier Automotive India Heads
