    Description

    Qualification:
    (M. Tech./M.E. + 4 to 6 years) or (PhD + 0-3 years) of experience in design of Electrical machines e.g.

    PMSM, Switched Reluctance motor (SRM), Synchronous Reluctance motor (SyRM),

    etc. from IIT or NIT or Good academic institutes.

    Responsibilities:

    Draw detailed specifications of motor from system requirementsAnalytical design of Electrical machines for various Automotive applicationsSimulate analyze and verify the design using Finite Element tools like Ansys Maxwell, JMAG, etc.

    Optimize motor design considering optimal cost functionProvide support for CAE and thermal analysisBuild verification and validation plan for the motorDevelopment of motor components and prototypes for validationDFMEADFM/DFATest and validate the electrical design on a dynamometer or target applicationPerform RCA on failures and identify optimal corrective actionIdentify improvement opportunities in motor and explore various solutions.

    Paper publication and patenting novel ideas are encouraged.
    Understand manufacturing and process related constraints. Improve design procedure to optimally utilize the processesAutomate design processes using Python scriptingDocumentation as per the Stage-Gate processDocument design procedure for new technology development

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Strong knowledge of electrical machine design of PMSM, SRM, SyRM, etc. including motor sizing and material selection.
    Experience in FEA tools like Ansys Maxwell/MAGNET/Flux/JMAG is mandatory.
    Good understanding of Python scripting is a must.

    Experience in testing and analysis is a mustGood understanding of electric machine thermal analysisGood understanding of power electronics, devices and converter configurations.

    Good understanding of FOC, DTC, MTPA, Field weakening control of electrical machinesGood understanding of failure modes of motor + control systemExcellent team contributor who learns as well imparts knowledge to the other team membersProblem solving attitudeAbility to challenge the assumptions and apply logicToolsAnsys Maxwell, Ansys MotorCAD, Python, Ansys Workbench
