    Description

    Job Description :
    As a Storage and Backup Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our storage and backup infrastructure.

    You will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our data storage and backup systems.

    The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with a range of storage and backup technologies, including Cisco MDS, Pure Storage, NetApp, NetBackup, Data Domain, ECS, and Dell eSRS Gateway.


    Key Responsibilities :

    Storage Management :

    • Configure, deploy, and maintain storage solutions including Pure Storage, NetApp CDOT, Data Domain, ECS, and Dell eSRS Gateway.
    • Monitor storage capacity, performance, and utilization to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve storagerelated issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.

    Backup Administration :

    • Implement and manage backup solutions using NetBackup to ensure the integrity and availability of critical data.
    • Develop backup policies and procedures to meet business requirements and compliance standards.
    • Perform regular backup testing and validation to verify data recoverability and integrity.

    Infrastructure Maintenance :

    • Upgrade and patch storage and backup systems to maintain security and compatibility with the latest software versions.
    • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to schedule and execute infrastructure upgrades and maintenance activities.
    • Perform routine health checks and proactive maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.

    Monitoring and Reporting :

    • Implement monitoring solutions such as DCNM and AIQUM to proactively detect and address storage and backup issues.
    • Generate regular reports on storage and backup performance, capacity, and availability for management review.
    • Analyze trends and recommend optimizations to enhance system efficiency and performance.

    Documentation and Knowledge Sharing :

    • Maintain accurate documentation of storage and backup configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
    • Provide training and knowledge transfer to junior team members and other IT staff as needed.

    Project Management :

    • Participate in storage and backuprelated projects, including migrations, upgrades, and expansions.
    • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to plan, implement, and support storage and backup infrastructure initiatives.

    Qualifications :

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • 58 years of experience in storage and backup administration, with handson experience with Cisco MDS, Pure Storage, NetApp CDOT, NetBackup, DataDomain, ECS, and Dell eSRS Gateway.
    • Solid understanding of storage protocols and technologies such as Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, and CIFS.
    • Experience with storage virtualization and SAN/NAS environments.
    • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex storage and backup issues.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.
    • Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, NetApp NCDA/NCIE, or Veritas Certified Specialist (VCS) are a plus.
