    PositionSummary:


    TheDesign Thinking Facilitator plays a pivotal role in fosteringinnovation creativity and problemsolving skills among studentswithin the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme(MYP) frameworks.

    This position involves designing and facilitatingdesign thinking workshops projects and experiences that empowerstudents to tackle realworld challenges explore interdisciplinaryconnections and develop a mindset of empathy curiosity andresilience.


    KeyResponsibilities:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive design thinking curriculumthat aligns with the IB PYP and MYP frameworks integrating designthinking principles processes and mindsets into the schoolsinquirybased approach tolearning.
    • Design and facilitate design thinking workshops activities andprojects for students across different grade levels fosteringcreativity collaboration critical thinking and communicationskills.
    • Collaborate with classroom teachers and subject specialists tointegrate design thinking concepts and methodologies intointerdisciplinary units of inquiry connecting with various subjectareas and globalcontexts.
    • Empower students to identify and define realworld problems conductresearch generate innovative ideas and prototype solutions using ahumancentered designapproach.
    • Provide guidance and support to students as they navigate thedesign thinking process including empathizing with users definingproblems ideating solutions prototyping designs and testingiterations.
    • Foster a culture of creativity experimentation and risktakingwithin the school community encouraging students to embrace failureas an opportunity for learning andgrowth.
    • Incorporate digital tools technologies and maker resources intodesign thinking experiences enabling students to leveragetechnology for innovation and rapidprototyping.
    • Collaborate with external partners industry experts and communityorganizations to provide authentic design challenges mentorshipopportunities and realworld contexts for studentprojects.
    • Assess students design thinking skills processes and outcomes usinga variety of formative and summative assessment methods providingconstructive feedback and reflectionopportunities.
    • Engage in ongoing professional development and collaborativelearning opportunities to enhance expertise in design thinkinginterdisciplinary teaching and IBpedagogy.
    • Uphold the mission values and policies of the school and serve as apositive role model for students demonstrating a passion forinnovation creativity and lifelonglearning.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in Education Design Engineering or related field;masters degreepreferred.
    • Previous experience facilitating design thinking workshops orprojects preferably in an IB or international schoolsetting.
    • Strong understanding of design thinking principles processes andmethodologies and their application in educationalcontexts.
    • Knowledge of the IB PYP and MYP frameworks and approaches toinquirybased learning interdisciplinary teaching andinternationalmindedness.
    • Excellent communication collaboration and facilitation skills withthe ability to inspire and empower students to think creatively andsolve complexproblems.
    • Proficiency in using digital tools maker resources andtechnologyenhanced learning platforms to support design thinkingexperiences andprojects.
    • Enthusiasm for interdisciplinary teaching and a willingness tocollaborate with colleagues from different subject areas tointegrate design thinking into thecurriculum.
    • Flexibility adaptability and resilience to navigate challenges andembrace change in a dynamic educationalenvironment
