Lab Technician _ Electrical & Electronics
Job Summary:
• Basic repair and maintenance of lab electrical equipment
• Building/assembly, troubleshooting, and testing of electronic components, electrical wiring harness, etc
• Lab inventory management
• Maintenance of equipment calibration data
• Compliance with lab safety requirements
Job Responsibilities:
• Assist project teams in performing tests on circuit board assemblies.
• Build, assemble, troubleshoot and test wire harnesses and basic electronic circuits.
• Read wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.
• Perform soldering and de-soldering of electronic components (thru-hole and SMD) on
circuit board assemblies.
• Keep laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
• Maintain equipment calibration records and assist in performing equipment calibration
• Perform quality checks on newly delivered equipment to ensure proper operation
• Comply with lab safety requirements and ensure that lab users comply with the same.
Maintain PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in the lab.
• Follow 5S in the lab. Assist in lab facility maintenance and repair whenever required
• Assist in performing packaging of fragile electronics items to be shipped to other locations.
• Participate in team meetings, 5S meeting, lab assessments, fire audit and follow up on action items
• Perform ESD audit of the lab and work on remedial actions
Skills Required:
Mandatory
• Knowledge of basic electronic components, wires and their current carrying capacities
• Ability to read and understand datasheets, wiring diagrams or wirelists, schematics.
• Skilled in soldering and de-soldering of electronic components; splicing, crimping of wires.
• Skilled in using hand tools and power equipment such as drills
• Good oral and written communication skills in English
Recommended
• Skilled in soldering and de-soldering of fine pitch SMT electronic components
• IPC610, IPC620, IPC7711/7721 and JSTD001 certification
Qualifications and Experience:
• Diploma in Electronics or SSC (12th pass) preferably with either Electronics as a vocational subject or completion of an Electronics Technology certificate program (ITI)
• 2-3 years of relevant experience Other skills and abilities:
• Ability to work in a globally distributed setting without supervision.
• Self-driven, Proactive.
