    UI Architect

    Summary

    As a UI Architect at Bottomline, you will have the opportunity to contribute to one of Bottomline's key Platforms, with architecture, security, accessibility, and performance as your key areas of focus. You will help keep Bottomline's development Best Practices up to date and will provide technical leadership and mentorship to the Bottomline UI Development team. You will work closely with Product Owners, Operations, and Engineering organizations to understand requirements and develop specifications. Finally, you will collaborate with the Design and UX specialists to refine component specifications and translate those designs into reusable UI Components.

    Job Duties

  • Ownership of one of Bottomline's key platform roadmaps
  • Helping to keep our development best practices up to date
  • Enforcing Code Design and Reviews, Unit Tests and Test Automation
  • Creation of prototypes and proof of concepts to drive the future state of one of Bottomline's platforms
  • Provide effort and risk estimates to support planning.
  • Collaboration with product designers and UX specialists to refine component specifications and translate those designs into UI Components
  • Maintenance and contribution to Bottomline's UI Design Library

    • Experience

  • Expert level JavaScript knowledge, both ES5 and ES6
  • Emphasis on functional programming is a plus
  • A strong proponent of clean, valid, maintainable, and semantically correct HTML and CSS
  • Expert level understanding of Responsive Design principles
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests
  • In-depth knowledge of the capabilities of IE11+, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome
  • Working experience with WCAG 2.0 Level A and AA success criteria
  • Experience with Backbone and React a plus
  • Experience with server side technologies a plus
  • Exceptional communication skills

    • Requirements

  • 3+ years as a UI Development Team Lead
  • 8+ years of UI Development
  • S. in Computer Science or equivalent studies in modern technologies
  • Online portfolio or live example of work
