    Job Description (JD) for a Front Desk Receptionist at a Medical Practice

    Position: Front Desk Receptionist

    Location: Bund Garden - PUNE

    Job Type: [Full-time]

    Job Summary: The Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients at our medical practice. The primary responsibility is to warmly greet patients, efficiently manage appointment bookings, and ensure the smooth operation of administrative functions at the front desk. The receptionist must maintain the highest level of professionalism and courtesy at all times and be knowledgeable about the services we provide.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Patient Interaction:

    Greet

    • patients upon arrival and departure.
    • Answer incoming calls, address inquiries, and ensure appropriate call distribution.
    • Provide information about services, practitioners, and office policies.

    Appointments and Scheduling:

    • Manage the schedule of practitioners.
    • Book, change, and cancel appointments as requested by patients. Inform practitioners of any changes or special considerations for the day's appointments.

    Administrative Duties:

    • Register new patients and update existing patient details in the electronic health record system.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk and waiting area.
    • Ensure reading materials in the waiting area are current.

    Billing and Insurance:

    • Handle billing inquiries and process payments.
    • Supporting Medical Staff: Prepare daily patient charts.
    • Facilitate communication between patients and medical staff.
    • Assist with the organization and management of patient records.

    General Office Tasks:

    • Manage inventory of office supplies and inform the manager of any needs or shortages.
    • Distribute incoming mail and manage outgoing mail.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent. Higher education or coursework in medical administration is an asset.
    • Previous experience in a medical setting or as a receptionist is advantageous.
    • Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health record systems.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
    • Basic computer skills including knowledge of MS Office and email.

    Compensation: 18K to 25K based on experience
