Sub-Editor / News writer

We are looking for Sub Editors/News Writers to join Dailyhunt as part of a larger English editorial team.

Expected qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Journalism or equivalent experience

Minimum experience: 2-4 years

Work experience in a mainstream digital news platform preferred.

Requirements / Desired Skills:

Being able to write news summaries in 60 words, with strong paraphrasing skills

Excellent writing skills, good command over English language and grammar

Knowing what's going on: Keen awareness of news, trending topics & current affairs

Ability to prioritise news based on importance, time sensitivity is important

Ability to research well, understand a topic, and simplify it

Ability to thoroughly check for spelling and grammatical errors in copy

Verify accuracy of content before publishing, while adhering to deadlines

Ensuring highest quality and standard of content before publishing

Visual storytelling: Working knowledge of tools like Canva, Invideo preferred

A solid understanding of infographics, templates / layouts, and image use preferred

Track social media for trends, different visual formats and knowlege of SEO is a plus

Excellent time management skills & ability to work under pressure

Must be a team player, team management skills are a plus
