Role OverviewWe are looking for a Java Developer with strong Drools expertise to design and implement rule-based decision systems for banking and financial applications.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in FinTech or Banking domains, working on business rules, risk, compliance, or transaction processing systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain Java-based applications using Drools (Rule Engine)
Translate complex business requirements into Drools rules (DRL, Decision Tables)
Collaborate with business analysts and product teams to implement rule-based workflows
Integrate Drools with core banking, payments, risk, or lending systems
Optimize rule performance and ensure high scalability and reliability
Participate in code reviews, testing, and production support
Ensure compliance with banking security and regulatory standards
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of experience in Java/J2EE development
Strong hands-on experience with Drools Rule Engine
Experience with DMN (Decision Model and Notation)
Experience in FinTech, Banking, Financial Services, or Capital Markets
Good understanding of business rule management systems (BRMS)
Experience with Spring / Spring Boot
Strong knowledge of SQL, REST APIs, and Microservices architecture
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices
Domain Knowledge (Preferred)
Lending, Credit Risk, AML/KYC, Payments, or Core Banking
Regulatory and compliance-driven systems
Transaction processing and rule-based decisioning
Nice to Have
Exposure to Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes
Cloud experience (AWS / Azure / GCP)
Experience handling production issues in banking environments
